It is the genre defining game.

It's my personal favorite survival/crafting game.

I've leveled a character to 50 and enjoyed the story. It definitely feels like baby's first MMO experience. There are very few quests in each zone. You complete them to gain story progress or things to use at level 50, such as extra skill points or cards.

That said there are approximately 1100 thousand million things to do at end game, each with its own currency. This is a small amount of hyperbole. Plenty of group and solo content. In fact most things can be done solo.

Chaos dungeons are short Diablo 3 rifts.
Guardian raids are monster hunter fights
The tower (i forget what it's called, Shadespire?) is torn from FF14

And so many different currencies and systems. Pirate coins, gathering mats, your stronghold (player housing), two different sailing systems, card collecting (and I think cards can level up?).

The engraving system is fairly unique. You will need to watch a video on it, its a big system.

There is not much of the Tank, Healer, DPS trinity. There are 2 support DPS classes and 1 "Tank" DPS class.

It has been fun so far and I feel like I'll Put at least a couple hundred more hours into it.

Lovely little game. Not much stress. Fun little city builder.

Factorio meets Minecraft. Good stuff.
