Fun game. Its as if Rimworld and Terraria made a baby and let it play with its 3rd cousin Stardew Valley.

The first time I loaded up brawlhalla and queued up in FFA I was immediately getting handled. I thought, "What type of nerd learns combos in a cartoony fighting game... thats free". I kept playing the game and after learning character moves and weapon hitboxes I could stand a fighting chance and get some wins.

This game is just freakin hilarious. Seeing characters fly off stage be it myself or someone else is still awesome hundreds of hours and KOs later. I play Brawlhalla for the lols.

If you liked any variation of Smash Bros. you'll enjoy this game at least for a day or two.

The only thing bad about this game is the "community". It's not really the game's fault I think its just the current generation of gamers and I have no idea how it got this way.... People will be salty if they lose and salty if they win. Just remember it really means nothing ;)

Anyways, the game is free and takes up very little HDD space. Give it a try.

WASD movement makes perfect sense. I'm not a big fan of DoTA/LoL controls but this game is more my style. This game requires teamwork. A lot of people in game dont understand that, I dont know where they come from. A game like this is good for playing every once in a while, at least to me because some of the decisions of other players can be outright infuriating. Its definately worth giving a try.

There are people who cry that the game is p2w. Spending money translates to spending less time grinding out whatever you're aiming for. There are weapons available for purchase by the ingame currency but those weapons aren't the best there is and a Tier 6 weapon is going to be a better choice in the end.

Currently only two modes of gameplay.

Horde mode:
These started out being really fun. But in actuality its the same 3 maps for the three varying difficulties. The difference is the amount and strength of the zombies coming at you each wave.

Scavenger:
This is currently the only PvP mode in the game and yields the best rewards, even if you come in 3rd place. This is the wild card you accept every time you click the ready button. Consider all the possiblities that come with 4vs4vs4. The decisions you make can be costly and with 3 teams there are many things you cannot control. Being the best equipped, most skilled, and coordinated team gives you a high probability of first place but nothing is guaranteed because at any time the losing team can decide they really dont want you to win. There will be times where you're fighting off both teams and times where you fight no one at all.

Other aspects of the game:
The grind:
Everything has levels: your account, the characters, and their weapons. It can be a grind if you play it that way otherwise, you'll get things completed as you play. To put things into perspective it takes about 40 matches to get a non-legendary tier 6 weapon maxed but most of that time is spent to finish that last weapon level.

There isnt a huge pool of characters but they're all different and fun to play (I've played everyone but Voltage and Armored Berg). Most are well suited for both modes of gameplay.

The weapons you obtain are made out of materials and/or gearpoints (mostly gearpoints). Everything you get is collected after each match. Before you can make the weapon you have to get the blueprint at random. Don't worry, you'll play so many matches you'll eventually have every blueprint available with the exception of legendary blueprints that'll pop up when you least expect it.
