Major problems:
- Keeps crashing when fast travelling or entering new locations (3 years after the final patch, i.e. everything must be working correctly)
- The screen turns completely black and the game freezes randomly every 30 minutes or so
- Too many places of the island are incomplete (horrible textures, rectangular blocks in ... the mountains, etc.)
- Two DRMs simultaneously
- Side missions are of no value since normal gameplay yields more than enough experience and money
- Bad console port overall

Minor problems:
- Too easy too play (at default difficulty)
- No Steam achievements

Pluses:
- Better than FarCry 2: you can capture outposts
- A great plot and beautiful missions

It's hard to play it given its crashiness :-(

I've no idea how people manage to finish this game in less than 6 hours, because I've spent over 60 completing this game at the average difficulty and though its end is open and looks a little bit like a cliff hanger I still enjoyed it immensely.

The game mechanics is new in a way that you can complete the whole game without killing anyone, including the final boss. You can jump and climb pretty much anywhere which was tons of fun throughout the game.

My only gripe is that this game seems a little bit like a rehash of Human Revolution in a sense that I was craving for something a lot bigger and radically newer, and instead I got a new Human Revolution with fantastic graphics, improved playing options, and vastly improved game mechanics.

Still, if you are a fan of Human Revolution I highly recommend DE:MD as well.

Don't pay attention to my game stats: first I finished the pirated version of the game and then I bought it legally. Thanks, CPY.

CS2 review from December 22, 2024:

* Horrible kill/damage (feed) latency
* Horrible occasional stuttering ("long" server frames, 120ms client side lags) for no reasons
* Barely playable with ping above 40ms (feels like 120ms in CS:GO)
* A huge peeker's advantage online, it insists on always moving
* Requires 7800X3D/9800X3D and RTX 4070 to "feel good" in 1080p which is insane
* Rampant cheating even for Arms Race and Deathmatch modes
* Solo Q is atrocious vs. stacks.

This game is a drug and it has the potential to ruin your life, work, relationships, health and vision. Avoid at all costs unless you wanna grind to a T1 level which is available for ~150 people in the world.

Jokes aside:

* The graphical engine is outdated as f**k, you don't see your own shadow and the game is single-core limited
* You're shooting from your eyes (!)
* Almost nothing aside from rare doors and vents on certain maps can be destroyed
* The right-eye peek advantage makes no sense and is not present in any other game
* The mollies and smokes behavior is absolutely inconsistent
* Sounds are nice but the audio system is f**ked up: you need to crank up the volume to the maximum and become deaf in the process to be competitive
* You can drop and share guns but not grenades
* Too many cheaters even among old-timers

Doesn't contain a game mode and a tad overpriced IMO.

Other than that it works and it measures your GPU/CPU performance.

Cannot play it under Windows 7 64/NVIDIA 364.72. The game crashes all the time.

5 years after its GA there's still no solution to popping textures. I refuse to play a game which has its appearance broken every time I make a sharp turn.

I don't care about gameplay, or anything, I just want stable graphics.

I want my money back, alas I bought it a year ago and never found a time to play it. Screw idSoftware and John Carmack. It's their worst game ever.

Strangely the game feels a lot more like COD than F.E.A.R.

As such I cannot recommend it.
