Launched as a great, immersive title.
Cannot honestly recommend because the game I played is no longer available on this platform.
Hopefully future updates to this VR murder simulator don't swap the guns for walkie-talkies.

Great single player. Multiplayer is a goofy grind trying to incentivize you to open your wallet. Play it with some friends and don't expect to achieve anything. The price gets reasonable during sales, so under that condition, it's a must-play.

Early Access Review
Updates are slow, but steady. They're listening to community feedback, it may take a couple patches but they're paying attention.

I'm enjoying the game in it's current state. Based on the last year and a half of development, I expect good things from the future.

One of the biggest problems remaining is the lack of new player support, the game does not hold your hand. Without the Champions pack, you can't start your own empty server to practice strafe jumping. It's implied that an in-game tutorial/practice area will exist someday, but not yet.

If you're interested, there's obviously no barrier to entry. If you're on the fence and aren't already installing, check back in a couple months.

The game hasn't aged very well, but it's still very playable. Old-school shooting mechanics, no sights, almost no reloading. No regenerating health or shield. Most missions have give you the choice between guns blazing or just being a passive citizen caught in the circumstances. I feel it's a better choice than stealth-or-shoot FPS games, I'm biased because I can't into stealth.

The DLC is very worth it, both DLC and base game get heavy discounts during sales. Sale or not, Running With Scissors is one of the most down-to-earth developers around. They support their old games, even Postal 1 keeps getting updated after Postal Redux came out. I'll say their games are absolutely worth full price, but know that makes me a cheap hypocrite.

Flawed game, but very fun.

The story is silly. The character animation seems 10 years behind the model quality. Randomly generated levels means lots of familiar areas across different maps. Too much gear if you can't be bothered to fiddle with upgrades.

That said, this is still one of the most fun experiences of 2016. The combat and movement are satisfying. The sheer amount of melee and ranged weapons is very impressive, and the upgrade system makes them all flexible to different situations. The graphics are oftentimes stunning, but have moments of silliness thanks to glitches and janky animation.

This game has a "New Game+" mode where you can do another lap with all your upgrades, and you can also bring your OP character into online co-op. I think it even supports LAN play.

The game certainly isn't perfect, but I'd still recommend it to any FPS fan
