Okay, first things first, stay away from DayZ official servers, it's disaster.

Now, game is hard, you will have keep Thirst, Hunger, Blood (If attacked).
If you want to just loot around and have a blast, download DZSA Launcher and choose PVE servers.
Found so many good mates there, so many good laughs, so many good memories.
It can consume you when you start getting your character geared, when you buy modded weapons, modded cars (Lambos, RS6, Ferrari, LandRovers, etc.. you get the point )
Game on itself offers a really good challenge, but people made private servers much more enjoyable.

Totally recommended, buy it, and have a fun. Out of all new games, and old that can offer similar, this is the one which is the absolute best one.


Edit: Why PVE custom server before PVP - If you want to have your chill time after work hours, to be able to look behind and actually see progress, that you achieved something that day, without worry that someone will kill you, raid your base, that you can progress in game and really take game to another level.

Afterall, you will avoid toxic Rusty players that want to make your life miserable since they are already too deep.

Just released game is much better than ~10 AAA games i played.
So much content, no p2w, cosmetics are dope.

After so many years finally to be able to play new game that can actually deliver.
Recommended.

They can wait outside of trouble and pack bags.

Anyway, saw many bad reviews on this game, so I decided to give it a shot and here is my review >>

So, let's start with cons first:

There are slight problems with building placements, you can't place on some part of the terrain. + buildings for wood and meat were small, but now they are wood and pig farms, which means it's bigger, you can't stack millions woodcutters on one place and enjoy in wood rain.
Peasant houses are in my opinion really bad, cause you will eventually have really big population (soldiers and workers) and you can only get max (10 people per house) when you build near castle, few units further, number of available peasants will decrease, same as cost and size of house. You don't want to place 50 houses for 50 soldiers.
Next one is about gathering stuff, in good known Stronghold Crusader, there was wood by wood, stone by stone, apple by apple. Here i think it's a bit more than that, maybe it's better but i don't like it much.
Game is crashing, but not too often.

Now there are pros:

Stockpile with unlimited storage, yes, thank god!!
As i said before, you get a bit more resources from single unit. (can be stored in pros and cons together)
You can set any daytime, yes, you can even play at night (still, when you click on peasant you will hear "morning, your lordship"
Yes, you still can hear "Morning, your lordship!" "Can't target him sir!"
You can play various scenarios (historical sieges), and on community maps (although there is only 3)
It's pretty and everyone who love Stronghold will like this.
