Early Access Review
Everything that Slime Rancher was but better and improved. Super chill and relaxing, yet challenging if you want it to be.

Pretty close to tabletop experience, great storytelling and music.
Promises a great possibility for multiple runs through different mythic paths / alignments combos.

Breed Slimes, collect poop, become rich. Simple as that! (Plus tons of fun mechanics and exploration)

Whenever a Warhammer game releases there is always a controversy around it. It's really hard to create a product that will be appealing to hardcore fans of the FB or 40k universe and will have nice game mechanics. Behavior tried their best to find the middle ground for this one and while they have not yet succeed with every possible aspect of the game it is a solid start.

So let's talk about the pros and cons of this thingie:

Pros:
- Four factions, each has it strongs and weaknesses. Either you like leggins and gravi-tanks or prefer to WAAAAGH there will be a place for you in the game.
- Different classes that can be played however you want. Almost every setup of equipment is viable.
- Weapon and class customization. As mentioned in previous point, you can setup a loadout any way you want. Want to play an assault class with close quarters weapon? Go for it. Need something to be able to deal with vehicles? No problemo.

Cons:
- Balance. And it's a big one for now. Be prepared for regular balance changes that may turn the game upside down. Some factions are under performing from the statistic point of view but it is not because they are weak but because of the player not realizing full potential of the kit they have in possess.
- Matchmaking. Also a solid point to discuss and whine about. Not that much players are in the game at this moment and therefore sometimes it takes a while to find a match. Plush guilds and premade groups may dominate a random group which will bring negative experience.
- Optimization and netcode. It's a tricky one. While the game may run perfectly for hours, sometimes it begins to act strange. Low FPS and lag spikes that comes from nowhere and vanishes right after you are getting killed. EU servers acts weirdly from time to time - players may teleport ten feet, receive damage behind the cover and etc.

Neutral:
- Monetization via purchasing skins for your characters. While there are some weapons to buy with RTC, those does not provide any huge advantage out of a box. You still need to learn how use those and from the stat side they are mediocre.
- Vehicles and how they feel. Control is clunky, Rhinos has nothing agains Predators (you have to change a loadout to take away tank that is killing your respawn point; while it is a great descision gameplay-wise, due to the respawn system it makes the gameplay unfun). But overall having those vehicles is great.
- Map design. While some maps plays great, other feel like a local Vietnam (I'm looking at you, Fortresses!). Some points may have only one or two viable points of access and therefore it's too easy to defend them. There is almost no place to hide a Rhino on any map to gain a fast access to a certain point and keep it alive for more than a minute. Yes, it is a part of the game but it takes away versatility and tactics.
- Roleplay community.

Summary: Eternal Crusade presents an interesting point of view on online shooting game. It has it it's flaws but there is a room for an improvement and developers are willing to deliver those. If you would like to try some team-based PVP action game with a taste of pure epicness - go for it. Except if you are not a fan of unpolished games.
