Still amazing.

Its like the Mona Lisa painted with food scraps on the skin of an unfortunate drifter.

Early Access Review
I find this game strangely relaxing, and I really hope they plan on doing a lot with this.

The core gameplay is very good, the only thing that really puts me off of it are the random "stops" when the physics start freaking out and your stuff starts clipping out of your roof at 200mph,

Id love to see more vehicles and parts to swap in and out of the game too like some weird sim, cold air intakes, turbos, exhaust customization, carburators vs fuel injectors, hell even a roof rack.

Also more varied destruction for your vehicle, making it more pertinent and interesting to keep your personal vehicle running. Great game, Ill be keeping an eye out.

Very brainless with a lot of potential.

It's a fun and simple game, but I wish there were more involved interactions with the dinosaurs, and less time refilling tall herbivore feeders.

The best part IMO is when you can look at all your awesome dinosaurs and big $$$$ numbers but the bulk of your gameplay is spent navigating the not-so-seamless UI and microing your Rangers/ACUs to do things that should really be automated. Despite this tedious labor, the parks can still be pretty grand. While the microing is fun, it really feels held back by the tediousness of Rangers/ACU stations. If these management systems were re-designed it would be a 10/10

The game is overall a 7/10 but is artificially held back by building limitations and menial labor.

Oh and please tone it down with the "Building/Terrain constraints", I have the money for cliffs.

EDIT: Keep an eye out for mods, could be a complete game changer. Official mod support was released 2 days before this review was written.

Very interesting gameplay, several different ways to go about missions, but it is plagued by forced dialogue where you have little no decisions on the arguments presented to you as well as unnecessary cinematics.

It plays a bit like XCOM, but giant robots. Unfortunately 50% of your gameplay will be watching automated in game cinematics. I changed some game files to force the animations to be far faster, so it is kinda janky looking now, but still a huge upgrade from regular speed gameplay.

If the game was more streamlined, and was easier to flip through your mechs it would most certainly be a recommend.

If you don't mind an insanely slow game, its quite good. Unfortunately for me, it is un-playably slow. Juggling your mechs and repair schedules is also a lot of fun for me.

I do not think the developers are being greedy, and I may have felt a little strong and thought the worst (They's good lol). But they do not update their official website, steam page, or any social media besides Discord.

They are working on substantial updates/additions to the game as well(In steam beta), but I still don't think it's worth $40 atm. I would wait until these coming updates roll out first and see what people say.

MODS are also acceptable, but I don't think they plan on adding official mod tools, although they have no qualms about it happening. (They have a nexus page)

*The world needs building, and only Nine Dots can do it, just wait and see.... Or until it's $15.*

Edit: Everything I said after this, I felt at the time.

If you told me that this game was the alpha demo to the engine of what will become the greatest RPG of all time, I would have believed you. It finally translated the old school RPG mechanics that we masochistically loved into the modern setting. If you told me that the Developers of this game essentially ended future content support and any official mod support to this gem and foolishly branded this game "Complete", I would write a bad review.

Let me preface this by saying, yes it is worth playing, but no it is not worth $40. Why Nine Dots and Deep Silver do not allow mod support is maybe the dumbest decisions in the RPG genre since Metro's decision to standalone on the Epic Store.

The hours you see in my game are about as long as it took me and a friend to ♥♥♥♥ around all over the planet, check out the factions and beat the game.
People will say there is "tunnel vision" when lack of content is mentioned, but I think this may be a bit of love clouding their vision. Every single interaction in the game, happens once. You can farm very specific bosses over time, but their own facilities do not replenish. Every animal you kill in an area, happens essentially once. You will get attacked by bandits in an area ONCE , you will clear that massive cave ONCE , you will decimate a fortress ONCE . Only in very specific areas with very specific NPCs and mobs, will they decide to repopulate. The game implies you are gonna do something exactly once and never turn back, yet steps on it's own foot by making you go back through the same areas, where there is now nothing but a hallway with alchemy ingredients.

By no means is it a bad game, but it is also one of the most painful slaps to the RPG genre in recent years when they decided to end support so early. It can fill a niche no other major title can, and then can tell a story without ever saying a word.
....That said, you quickly realize you are the only person who is alive in the Outward universe. The dialogue is text based (Which is great, because you can understand things in greater detail, this is vital to the game's "figure it out" attitude), yet it is rare to get more than a handful of words out of someone. The lore is just begging to get written down for more mystery and immersion, yet it is not there . They brought the framework, but not much to put on the frame.

This game does not need Fast Travel, it needs LIFE.... It feels like someone shot the developers through the heart and they don't believe in their own game anymore. Well I do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I do.

On rx480, haven't had any issues whatsoever(so far that is)

Nothing quite as fun as mashing in someones head while screaming in a ridiculous voice. Very versatile in how you decide to play the game when it comes to weapons and skills. There also seem to be very few metas I can find so far, and the ones there are, are getting nerfed(like shield kicking's recent buff).
The biggest drawback of the game is the lack of gamemodes and maps, but that will come in due time. The dev team is small, and there are NO microtransactions(coupled with a reasonable unlock system).

The game is actively updated, not $60, has a dev team that interacts with the community, is going to be open to mod support in the future, has no microtransactions, is pretty much alone in its genre, and has the potential to be one of the greatest of all games.

Highly recommend LuteDecapitation/13.

Forwarning: Game is extremely brutal and unforgiving to new players with a skill curve that looks like a line graph of the human population post-agriculture. I recommend practicing duels with a single bot, or a few bots in a local match.

If you're a sweaty no-fun tryhard who can't live without a positive K/D, this game is probably not for you.

The game has the Skeleton of a Titan, but the flesh doesn't really seem to be there yet.

Note: I have not played NMS on release, and only started after the first NEXT update.
Now as updates are coming out at a rapid pace, things are sunject to change. As of now though, my experience is littered with bugs.

Cannot recommend.... not yet anyways.
TLDR: Feels like an open beta, can be fun, but very very repetive still. Seems leagues above what it was before though.

Pros:
-Really cool lore text, much akin to the text based RPGs of old.
-Space Travel
-Different Environments
-Freighter and Frigate system has me seriously interested
-New spacecraft
-New base building materials and functionality
-Blueprint system and Nanite collection system is tied into the Anomolies and milestones (Used to purchase upgrades)
-Barebones economy, but does have variation in between systems

Cons:
-Pretty much everything looks the same after a while (The procedurally generated things will simply swap out model parts for others that exist, IE two different animals with the same exact face)
-Non-existant AI, only pathfinding and basic aggression/avoidance seem to be the only components to the AI. (Humanoids do not move)
-Lasering ♥♥♥♥ all day every day
-Lack of gameplay variety, its kind of like a 3D starbound/terraria with more space and less events
-Constant bugs mostly involving your "crew" and freighters (Requires Restart)
-Terrible UI
-Terrible on keyboard and mouse (especially flying)
-Quests are often broken and repeatable (I can do the same mission as much as I want and farm Nanite Clusters/credits)
-Collision models do not always work (Such as flying into the Atlas interface, requiring a restart)
-Cant turn in a mission at that exact moment after entering terminal? Now you have to fly to a different station to turn it in. (only happened once)
-Humanoid "AI" is always located in the exact same spot, never moves, always predictable
-Galactic map is not very intuitive

Overall, there is much to explore, but there are a lot of recycled elements that become noticable as time moves on. While Hello Games seems to have failed in providing a good "farming/resource collection" game, they have succeeded in creating a skeleton of what could be a very interesting universe worth exploring the facets of. I feel like a lot of the universe is held back by the feeling *You are the only person who is actually alive in this universe".

Im interested to see where the game goes, but I cannot recommend it in its current state. I cannot lie I am very weary of the development for this game after its original launch (That sold for $60 plus), but the devs do seem to care about the game.... It is just very.... incomplete.

TL;DR: Great game, super consumer-hostile DLC policy. They lock "cornerstone" mechanics behind expensive DLC paywalls. Things like "puppetting" nations, spending "mana" that builds up endlessly, and lend-leasing for example. And if you like to play the regular WWII scenario (without $100 in DLC), expect a VERY barebones and predictable experience.

Below is part of my older review.

Lets start off by saying if this game did not have steam workshop enabled, it would be worth MAYBE 30 USD. MAYBE. If the steam workshop was not available it would be a NO BUY.

Fortunately the DLC isn't usually worth it, because there are mods that do the exact same things (Add "focus trees" for different countries, change political meta).

This is my first Paradox game, apparently they have a history with this specific business model of charging outrageous amounts for seemingly meaningless/easy to do DLC.

Pros:
The vanilla game is fun, and if you enjoy technical gameplay, long hours, and decisions that could make or break your game, I could recommend this to you. While the completely alien mechanics take a while to get used to, it is very enjoyable. There are also many different scenarios you could play out as well.

Cons:
Once you begin to understand the game more and possibly play with experienced players, you will begin to see the stale meta that is keeping the vanilla game afloat. If you want to do anything out of the ordinary, especially involving military things, you have to be fascist. I understand wanting to be as accurate as possible, but the Democratic nations are quite useless unless attacked first. I feel as though a lot of the mechanics are limiting in terms of what you can really do. They should be more concerned with interesting gameplay.
Overall the political system in this game is very lacking, but mods do much to remedy this (So now America can invade Brazil as a democracy... or whatever.)

There is also the matter of core/game changing mechanics being locked behind a paywall. I am speaking in particular of the TfV DLC that is required to make your own puppet nations with impunity.
