It's not Left 4 Dead and that's a good thing.

Vermintide provides a fresh take on the otherwise played out "kill hoards of things" genre. Guns are the standard tool of choice in most hoard games. Vermintide takes a more personal approach with core gameplay built around the best first person melee system I've ever seen. It's simple to pick up, but it's also deceptively deep. To make it through on the higher difficulties you're going to have to put thought into every attack, block, and dodge. Strong players are rewarded well for their skill. There's almost no situation a veteran player can't solo their way through.

Vermintide is a game best appreciated on as high a difficulty as you can handle.

Great tutorial system, and an amazingly robust training mode.
The game's visuals might turn off some people, but underneath is an excellently solid fighting game.
