I somewhat enjoyed playing this game, but at almost every point I felt like there were better things to be doing. I didn't enjoy the combat, the exploration, the service weapon power-up system, or the reading. There is a lot of tedious reading and video watching/audio listening to get the story, but what's the central story, side fluff, and in-between is not very clear. The intended ambiguity in the story doesn't help. Every story piece and every activity in the gameplay loop seemed like it would get better just around the corner, but never quite got there. And a couple of the key puzzles were really just unclear, not helped by not having the tools you use in the rest of the game. There's almost nothing that I couldn't overlook if it were the only issue, but sorting through it all, there are no parts without issues, and there is nothing I can wholeheartedly recommend about the game.
