I hate this game with every fibre of my very being. 10/10.

Guacemelee is a Metroidvania-style platformer about luchadors headbutting spoopy skellertons. That alone should make you want to buy at least seventeen copies.

Besides that, it has great visuals, interesting mechanics, fun combat, lots of random tat to hunt around for, and some really neat platforming puzzles. All in all, only a few cons come to mind;

- it's pretty easy. Only the first boss and final boss really gave me any sort of trouble (apart from all the platforming puzzles I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up because I'm a klutz); in fact I think the first boss kicked my arse even more soundly than the last.
- it's pretty short. I beat the main game in just under seven hours, including sidequests, and I'm quite confident I got most of the treasure along the way. That said there's a postgame hard mode and a couple of challenge areas I've not cleared so the replay value's there.
- the ending kinda sucks. Really. You beat Calaca and the game just ends, making what never was that satisfying a boss victory fall pretty flat.

That said, I still rate this game phenomenal, definitely a must-play.

There is basically nothing about this game that is not fantastic.

Skeleton rabbits, chainsaw jetpack drills, and sex with rubber ducks.
