Review for Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta as of 25/11/2021

The bad:
Community outrage over high priced MTX even if it's just cosmetics, poor sense of progression from challenges and poor Spartan customization. The game does not allow you to choose which modes you want to play (such as Slayer/Oddball/CTF) which is bad if you want to play something specific, this is related to challenges. Challenges are locked to a specific mode you have to play and the game enforces queues for random modes that have nothing to do with your challenges. Most of those are detrimental to the player's objective in the game by forcing you to do things in a specific way and they also provide little XP. Since this is F2P you need to do the challenges if you want to level up your Battle Pass, because of this some players leave matches hoping they'll queue for the right mode in order to complete their challenges. Players leaving the game get replaced with a bot and from what I can tell at least, this bot slot never gets filled with an actual player in the whole duration of the match. Now, the Tenrai Event is interesting but poorly planned as rewards are spread over the span of a couple of months. Some players have also complained about crossplay since controller aim support is broken supposedly, broken as in you're 100% accurate with your aiming. I can't tell because there is no indicator of who is playing with a mouse & keyboard or a controller.

The good:
Game is fun if you don't care about any of the stuff mentioned above, there's some nitpicks about balance in certain weapons but that's not for me to say.. The Tenrai mode is interesting and I hope its sticks around.

Conclusion:
I only made this review for the autumn sale badge and thought I might actually give my real opinion on something for once
