Been on the run for years but keep returning to this game.

I have been playing this game since its very first alpha phase and i can say so much.....

I love this game.
Of course there is still work to be done but i think that the dev team have proved to us that they really want to progress with this game. Frequent updates and dev blogs are interesting to read and just following the game while its being worked on is just great.

One thing i miss is more hostile drones or aliens and also attacks on your base that can be a challange to overcome. But im sure they allready thought of that and will be in the game soon :)

Great game

So i have been playing this game since release and would like to give my review.

1st: SOE have really put together a great game. the gameplay looks nice and the environments are great. its a shame they removed the rain but i know it will come back some time once they have cleared the bugs from it. The foggy environment are a nice detail and can in some cases make the game more challenging at some points when the fog is really thick. its also a good detail that the trees are falling once chopped.

A thing i think they should fix are the blackberry bushes. they are everywhere and an unlimted foodsource. its very easy to stay alive from hunger and dehydration, and it kinda takes out some of the survival aspects out of the game.

2nd: The loot system are very bugged atm and you have to be very lucky to find a firearm. and when you finally have find some and you stash it in a storage crate, the loot is gone when you log back into the game. So you have to store it in your inventory before logging out.

a thing i would like the devs to change is either reduce the amount of ppl on a server so the loot can have a chance of respawing or make the map bigger with more towns, campsites etc and keep the amout of players. that would also increase the loot.

Also more common loot are very difficult to find. you can search dozens of cars/crates and many times you only find a set of binoculars or scrap cloth, or when you run from house to house and only find alot of empty bottles and a few stagnant waters. you do find a LOTS of backpacks though.

3rd: the base building system is cool but also very bugged atm. an exsample could be that someone can log out next to a base and log back in and the walls are invisible for a few seconds so the player can walk into the base with no problems. also if you log out inside the base you spawn under the foundation outside the base.

overall a very nice game with almost daily updates and fixes. there are still a lot of work to be done but im sure that many things will get fixed in short time or atleast improved.

i will continue to play it and follow it as it develops and give it a big thumbs up.

Okay i have just been reading a lot of other reviews for rust and have to get my own opinion out.

First of all. There are so much negativity around this game all over the net due of cheaters, bugs etc.
GUYS COME ON. have some patience. The dev team is a small group of people working SO hard to make this game work, and all u do is criticize them. (U think u can do better, be my guest) its not always easy to make changes it takes time.
Second. It does says in the storepage that it is an alpha early acess game, and no one can expect that an early alpha game is 100 % bugless.

Sure there are bugs in the game. i have experienced my share part of them, but i dont let it get me down. In all the other alpha games i have been playing this is one of the games with less bugs. i have seen ALOT worse.

Then there are the hacker problem.

Sure they need to make some fixed regarding this issue, but server admins can also do their part of helping out. ban cheaters. list their steam ids on a banlist forum or on steam forum so other admins can blacklist those players. In my opinion that can work very well for some time and help get alot of hackers out. i do that on my server btw.

Also the devs have announced huge changes to the game in the future, and it will be out soon.

I give this game 7/10 so far and im sure i will raise that in future to a 10/10
