Re-edited my review. It went from OK to Good, and then Bad and now, straight to Avoid this game at all costs. Let me tell you why.

This game was in Early Access for a very long time. And by then you thought they'd release a good working product, right? Wrong, they released a very buggy and RAM hungry game, and everyone, including myself bought it, because (1) it was the very first BR game and (2) some bugs were tolerable.

Fast forward to PUBG 1.0...most of the bugs were fixed, but some are still prevalent. Still RAM hungry as before, so if you have a system with 8GB of RAM, good luck with that. Also, around this time, a whole new influx of players were starting to play the game, so...good for the community right?

WRONG. A couple of months later, cheating became rampant. Like real no fcks given by the devs to combat the cheaters. Region locking came in too late for the game. And when it did, people just found ways to circumvent it. Also, around this time, people are now realizing that we're still playing an "unfinished" game.

Every patch released ranged from 3GB to 15GB that did nothing to improve the gameplay or fix the bugs. Also, it was around this time that PUBG released cosmetics instead of fixing the problems. Trying to sue Epic Games, marketing this game as eSports ready game just added insult to injury. Non-existent customer support and rabid fanboys defending PUBG Corp/Bluehole/Whatever this company is called just fueled the fiery catastrophy that is PUBG.

Good riddance, PUBG Corp/Bluehole...I sure hope I can play this game without bugs, 15GB patches or cheaters in the next 30 years.

re-review 2019:
So, I have reinstalled PUBG since I bought a Ryzen 5 2600 and RX 570...I thought, maybe I could run this game at medium settings, huh? WRONG. Upon loading the game, it still gave frequent freezing, FPS drops, and crashes. LMAO. WTF is wrong with this game? UNINSTALLED AGAIN. LMAO.

2021 re-review:
So I recently re-installed PUBG and here's what I experienced. I'm using a Ryzen 5 2600, RX 570 4GB and 16GB of RAM. Thankfully I can crank the settings up to ULTRA without freezing, or stuttering. Good job!

I played a couple of matches (Quickplay, Solo and FPP), and from what I experienced it feels like most of the players that are in the game with me are bots, save for 10 players. Also, I'm quite confident to say that the final player who won was cheating.

Sadly, while they solved all the hiccups of the game, making it run beautifully on (beefy) machines, the main problem lies in the (1) lack of players actually playing the game, and (2) players cheating.

PUBG is both the pioneer and the swan song of a forgotten era. While they "invented" the BR formula/genre, they failed to adapt with the times and people either moved on to "more accessible" BR games or just played other games.

PUBG = a title that was ahead of its' era and the last of its' kind.

"Hey, we don't know how to get individual textures to load so I'm sure it's a great idea to force the players to load the entire map's ground and skyscape every time they spawn, right?" XD
