Just leaving a review to say I didn't have any of the crashing/freezing problems that majority of the negative reviewers seem to have.
What the game does have for me is heavy issues with FPS though. Most of the time the game will be struggling to maintain 60FPS despite running on a GTX 1060 6GB, and sometimes will even visibly drop below 30 (like when multiple AoE spell explosions are happening at the same time). I can only reliably get 60FPS in a few certain areas, like Sunleth.

Only things I've changed the game was turning off cloud saves and forcing V-Sync and triple buffering through the Nvidia control panel. Also played in windowed mode.
There's some guides on the steam hub to get more FPS out of the game but they make the game look like extreme garbage, so I'd advise you not to bother with them, unless you don't care about graphics in any way.

As for the game itself, I find it to be a lot more fun than XIII. You actually get to walk around hubs and talk to NPCs like in old Final Fantasy games.
Really good OST too.

Try it out, see if it runs on your system, and if not just refund it.

Thief 2014 is a mess. I've had arrows get stuck on invisible hitboxes of streetsigns/walls alerting nearby guards to my presence. I've had missions where I would get 0 kills/knockouts in the stats but not actually get the "no knockouts/kills" bonus for no reason whatsoever. I've had Garrett get stuck in place and be unable to move, forcing me to reload. I've also had the game crash right as I was reloading a save just to fix me being stuck.

Movement is sluggish and clunky.
This game is only 3 years old and it does not come with Borderless Window support, you'll have to use third party software if you don't want to play in fullscreen.
Game is littered with loading screens. Want to traverse from this tiny part of town to the other part of town? Here's a loading screen. Want to enter this dudes house in the part of town you just entered? Here's another loading screen.
Having to constantly open windows to enter a room just to have the damn window close behind you, and being forced to open the exact same window again just to leave the room you entered is incredibly annoying. And you'll have to be doing this constantly when traversing the city.

"Puzzles", if you could even call them that in this game, are an absolute joke. At one point you have to find 4 signs on nearby walls to figure out a combination on a certain device. Except once you find those 4 signs you don't actually have to figure out which order to put them in or anything, don't even need to look at the device yourself. The signs are literally lit up in bright blue on the thing and tell you exactly what to do.

Additionally, the sound in this game is absolutely broken. Characters voices will change volume at random during a cutscene. Sometimes they'll be speaking so quietly (not whispering, just literally the volume of the dialogue being incredibly low for no reason) you can barely hear them, just to suddenly have them be talking in a normal volume for the next line.
There's spots on some maps where if you're standing inside of them, you'll be unable to hear any music/ambient noise until you leave the area again. Just complete silence.

If you want to play a proper Thief game, go play one of the older ones.
If you just want to play an immersive sim game, play DX:HR/MD or Dishonored 1/2.
If you *really* want to see what this game is like for yourself, wait for a sale and buy it for $4 and try it out. Don't buy it full price, and also don't buy the Master Thief edition. It doesn't add anything worthwhile.

Have you ever sat there and thought:
"Damn, I wish there was a half strategy/half TPS pseudo-WW2 video game with an anime artstyle where majority of the allied forces are actually cute girls"?

Yes?
Then this is the game for you.

The port itself is fine, the game runs well and looks good, all the DLC is also included for free with the PC version. What else could you want?

This could've been a really good game if they had an actual budget to work with

Awesome OST - which you don't get to hear since everything else in this game is WAY louder than the background music, and there's no audio settings to be found in the game.
There's a wide variety of different and unique bosses.
Gameplay itself is very buggy, walking down any kind of slope makes you fly down it at 10x speed, and the AI can't stop your friendlies from constantly walking in front of your gunfire which results in their trust rating going down.

The story is pretty solid.

We played TF2 for nearly a decade just fine without matchmaking and now children are throwing a tantrum because their matchmaking doesn't work. If you can't figure out how to play the game the intended way (on community servers), maybe you just shouldn't play it.

Positive review to counter the negative spam :)
