It's a mixed bag. The visuals are beautiful and the music is pretty chill but there are too many annoyances that drain the fun; eventually it all becomes a drag. For example:
- Your player character moves too slow. You walk at a snail's pace and the mount needs time to rest after running. That's not fun.
- The hermit NPCs that you need to upgrade buildings go missing sometimes and never come back. Dumb friendly AI that you need to babysit is not fun.
- How much gold you can cary is very limited. So eventually you end up wasting it because your gold bag is full and people just keep throwing gold at you when you can't carry it. So you need to keep dropping the gold at the same rate as they are giving it to you. That's annoying. Why is there no way to upgrade your bag size or have multiple bags?
- You have to rebuild the ship on each island. That's not fun. Once is enough.
- When you leave one island in perfect condition and come back to it later, it's not in the same condition. Feels like game is forcing you to lose progress which is not fun.
- Too much micromanagement needed but everything is too slow because people have to walk all the way across the map which is very wide.
- A random boar encounter can really derail your game if you are in early stages of setting up your city.
- Hoarding gold is not fun. But the game forces you to do it because the next island is harder and also the winter season doesn't provide as many resources. So you need to reserve gold for later.
- Having to repeatedly go back and forth between gold farmers and the castle/bank is not fun.
- For some reason the game does not let you mark more than 4-5 trees to be chopped down at a time. Why not let us select all the trees we want? Leave it to the player if the trees should all be chopped down in one go or in batches.
- There is no way to cancel or pause the construction of something. If you have only a few builders and you start building something on one side of the map but there is something that needs urgent builder's attention on the other side of the map (because the horde damaged it badly for instance) then you have to wait for builders to finish all the already queued up items before they slowly walk to the other side that needs their attention.

The game is wasting too much time on the frustrating monotonous stuff instead of focusing on the fun aspects like building, upgrading, and defending the city. The more you play the more tedious and repetitive it becomes. You end up spending more time "running" around the map collecting resources instead of actually building or defending.

At first the game is addicting. The art and the lore is cool. Building and exploring is initially fun. But once you learn all the rules, it starts feeling like a chore.

Overall I'm leaning towards not recommended. If the above issues don't sound too bad to you then you might enjoy it for a number of hours.

If you like this type of humour then you will have fun. Some exploration, a bunch of platforming, and a lot of shooting.
The jungle areas were ok but I really liked exploring the alien cities. Cool bosses. The story is not too long. Runs well on the Steam Deck. It's not perfect but it's worth playing, if you can stomach all the poop jokes. :P

I am a perfectly normal human worm baby and I felt a real connection with the main hero and their journey to save all of humanity. The life experiences the protagonist went through resonated with me deeply on a personal level.

Mechanics are wonderfully satisfying. Crunchy sound. Great art.
Great setting and atmosphere. Fun to explore each new area.
Unique and cool skills that add Metroidvania elements.
Some sections can be challenging but the save points are never too far.

The flashback sections are kind of boring and didn't add much to the story. Felt like filler.
It desperately needs an in-game map because backtracking is required and it's easy to get lost. Especially when you want to find all the secrets and 100% every area.

Solid 6/10.
Runs great on Steam Deck!

Runs great on Steam Deck! Solid 90 FPS @ max settings.

Engaging story. Deeper than it appears at first glance. Fantastic pacing. Cool setting.
Game mechanics/controls are a bit clunky but overall fine. Shooting feels pretty good.
Graphics are decent. Environments have enough detail and variety. Sound is fine.
Game length is just right: around 7h for a single run-through.

Really makes you feel like a true noble hero who gets to save Dubai.

Worth playing in 2025!

Gorgeous art style. Imaginative adorable creatures inspired by nature. Fantastic music evoking the notes of Ghibli soundtracks. Short 3 hour experience that doesn't overstay its welcome.

The second half of the game requires some backtracking at times which felt a bit like filler. Devs should have added more shortcuts once you fulfill your goals within the area or "teleport" you back to the main "goal" of the area once you've gathered all the items.

The quests are kind of repetitive. In each area you essentially have to gather something and bring it to someone to get a skill/unlock passage to the next area.

The last world is more annoying then challenging but parts of it were really creative.

The game crashed twice for me (on Steam Deck) so had to replay the most annoying part twice. The two main cutscenes were also glitching out hard for me.

Story and characters are pretty minimal.

Get this on sale if you want to chill for a bit with some light platforming, Ghibli-inspired eye candy, and nice overall vibes.

Solid 6/10

Pros: The writing is top notch; lot's of great quotes. The voice acting and music are awesome. All the characters are fun and unique. Environments are imaginative and just beg to be explored. Interesting story and I really enjoyed my time with it.

Cons: Platforming can be clumsy sometimes. Cutscenes look outdated. Figments are a pain to collect if you are going for the 100%. Last level is pretty clunky and can get frustrating for many people. Some levels have pacing issues and the mechanics vary from level to level so some are just not as fun as others. Menu feels clunky to navigate and needs getting used to when you want to check the map or how many figments you collected.

TLDR: Overall I love this game despite some downfalls. Very cool platformer with memorable characters/story/locations. A fun creative adventure.
