Well, the game itself has quite a few annoyances and nonobvious basic mechanics (to save you some nerves — you can restore souls at the tavern for a tuppenny, and you can hire more expensive help there, too).

But atmosphere of slowly, thread by thread, picking apart a mystery is sublime. And (unlike other works of Alexis Kennedy), this game really allows you to take your time.
