How is the game, which had a budget for its development and has already been produced, affected by inflation? not the studio, the game itself. The development of the game is DONE . It has been for years. No new content has been added.
Before you mention bug fixes, those are no way comparable to the full development of a game and factorio is very stable anyway.
So, how is inflation affecting the game itself to justify a price increase?
You're saying something is anti-consumer, but you can't make any good arguments for why it is anti-consumer. If you think adjusting the price to match inflation is anti-consumer you should really look to food et cetera, since those follow inflation a lot closer.
Besides that, why aren't other developers increasing the price for the same reason? Warhorse studios are based in the same country and they haven't increased the price of their game. They've put it on sale, actually.
Unlike produce in the supermarkets, Factorio is a digital product which has already been developed and only needs some marginal support. So its development costs weren’t affected by inflation.
Only the developer’s daily life cost has been affected by that, if the studio has increased their wages and need money, maybe they could release a new product, DLC or something else to earn more, not simply charge more to players who are buying the game now, which by the way, goes against what they have said in the past.
Oh, and inflation was 15% in 2022 alone in Czechia where the developers are, which is the same as 7 years worth of compounding interest in normal economic theory. That's pretty unforeseen.
Read up on basic economic theory, it will help you in your personal life as well.
