100% the DLC on Hell, and am currently on a replay on Impossible difficulty. Absolutely fantastic sidestory. It's about 20 hours long and doesn't really have side content, but the power scaling is even more intensely satisfying this time around. Every spell feels OP, most of the styles feel impactful (though in my opinion Magician is too good to not use most of the time), the action is more condensed and intense, there are essentially no limits on your power level due to story, the ability board system allows for even more broken combinations (more stats per magic stone allows for HUGELY stacking mag/atk scores), there's a number of UI enhancements, and every enemy from the base game is present along with a number of new bosses. If you loved the gameplay loop of the main game, this DLC feels like a strictly better way to re-experience that magic in a familiar way.

Don't expect a whole lot plotwise. It does have a little that ties into the main story and setting, but it's not the focus.

I do wish there was a scaling dungeon at endgame that got harder as you progressed, but while the game allows infinite play, it's clearly aiming for a 15-20~ hour experience Also while a lot of animation time has been reduced, there's one item in the mid to late game you pick up frequently from chests that slows the action down a little more than I'd like. Trying to figure out where missing gear ingredients are can also still be a pain.

There's one missable achievement, if you care about that. You can get it somewhat quickly on a replay, especially if you breeze through on a lower difficulty.

Has one of the most satisfying power progression systems I've experienced in games; you are constantly getting stronger, controls are constantly getting more fluid, and you are gradually gaining access to broken fun mechanics. Core of the story is good but the MTL is pretty bad, and it feels like there's a bunch of things brought up but never adequately explained. The game only gets really grindy for an optional part way later on; for most of the game, you're accomplishing "grinds" quickly and constantly, getting neat rewards in quick succession.

Demo's not fantastic when it comes to showing you how good the game is (game suggests you should play it anyways but no, don't), it's the kind of game you just have to take a leap of faith with. Game has some glaring issues but the highs are REALLY high, and the entire last half of the game feels like an enjoyable blur with how I couldn't think of anything else than wanting to play the game.

Don't read this if you have bad depression, but overall it's really really good. The monologues kind of drag on sometimes, though. Absolutely Overdrive's best work, even if it feels like it takes itself too seriously sometimes.
