Great game. Awful port, crashes a lot.

The game is short, but very chaotic and fast paced. Level design is very repetitive (new obstacles and enemies are introduced periodically, but nothing that drastically changes the experience). You can use the destructible terrain in your favor, but it can render levels unbeatable. Each boss is unique and requires the use of different mechanics to beat, but they are also insta-kill galore. There are a lot of different and unique playable characters, with very distinct gameplay each; but there isn't a single mode that lets you choose which to play with; the game assigns you a random one on death, for every level you start (which means you can't keep the character you are using even if you manage to beat the level unscathed) and, the worst, every time you pick up an extra life you are also forced to switch (kind of ironic for a game about freedom). Characters are also very unbalanced, while some are extremely overpowered, others are nigh useless (except against bosses, when some are literally useless). The final boss was just cheap (and the zoomed out camera was a stupid design decision that made it much worse). Also this whole thematic of "AMERICA, LAND OF EXPLOSIONS AND FREEDOM, WILL SAVE THE WORLD FROM TERRORISM" is just tired and unfunny, even if it is meant to be ironic.
