When I first played this game the environment felt so real and the characters so alive that it changed the way I played RPGs. I was no longer interested in killing the innocent or trying to become the best thief. I felt more attached to the game than ever before and I genuinely felt guilty when my decisions were questionable.

Granted, it's been 6 years or so since release so I am a bit bored with this game at this point in time. However, I clocked more hours from this and from testing/installing/creating mods than any other game since I got on Steam YEARS ago. With that being said, I still recommend this game to anyone that hasn't played it before and looks interested in trying it. The game is buggy and lacks many features of its predecessors but it became an instant classic and between the vast amount of things to do and the gargantuan mod community the game is still highly re-playable.

I have not played the remastered version yet so I can't say for sure if that one is truly better or not. You will have to decide for yourself. All I can say is that this game promises HOURS of continual enjoyment.

EDIT: I finally played the remastered one and had frustrations. Would probably take extensive modding like with this one to make it worth while.
