Play another RPG. Perhaps one with more interesting things to say about the world? This game's anticapitalist messaging, apparently the core tenet of its theme, is somewhat weak and fails to deliver any new ideas; as a result this game fails to do anything more than be an echo of its likely inspiration "OFF".

I give this game one Platypus out of 10! It has minigames! An ending! Puzzles! Characters! A character who is horrible to everyone he meets! An ending! Did I mention that I like minigames?

Edit (11/11/2021):

It really is fascinating to play a game where the protagonist is just such an unrepentant ass. Rufus's behavior isn't condoned by the game, mind you- everyone hates him and most rightfully tell him off. It's an interesting critique of typical protagonist behavior, actually; one I'll still recommend after all this time.

I bought this game for less than a dollar during last year's winter sale. I didn't fully know what to expect, but after seeing the laser cutting mechanic in the first 10 seconds of the trailer, I was sold on my purchase. This game does not disappoint! All three tool mechanics are widely used in the game in multiple ways, so gameplay never falters, even when replaying. Discovering secrets and extras is exceptionally rewarding, occasionally leading you to decimate entire cliff faces in an attempt to get that one stone down at the bottom and then climb back up again, only downside is saving is checkpoint-based. All in all, I feel that no other game gives the temple-desecration-puzzle elements of this game, and at any price, it's a worthy pickup. I would definitely buy a sequel at full price, if it was a little longer.

Don't Starve is one of those games that ends up giving you way more than you expect. One feature that seperates it from other survival games is the addition of the sanity factor. The more unsettling and unusual things you do will drive so slowly insane, upon which you begin to hallucinate! The permadeath factor, which at first seems daunting, actually does not feel so painful. Even when you had a well-developed base, it is still fun to get started again.

This is definitely not Minecraft.

This game is full of everything good that is so hard to find in games today- wonderful characters, amazing art, and wonderfully catchy music. The gameplay is incredible mixing platforming and combat with the twist of psychic powers.
