Almost a perfect game...really.
I get exactly the feeling that i expected when i played Arma 3.
However..there is some weird choices in terms of progression or design

1) We can't cause any harm using hammer. Why i can't sabotage enemy buildings or installations using my own hammer? why the only choice is destruction by granades, rpg, etc?
2) Why i can't use lockpick in locked vehicles? the game officialy recognize the role of SPOTTER, DRIVER, SHOOTER, MED, LOGI... but there is no SABOTEUR.
3) You need to be at least rank 3 to draw on the map and it's not easy to gain experience.

When you watch some interesting moments on youtube, you may think that foxhole players are cohesive and nice..yes, they are nice, but not always cohesive. Often people just want anything to shot and logout. Do not overthink strategy.

jokes aside, it's a living world, lore good enough to keep you interested, nice graphics, combat feels like Guild Wars 2...and FFXIV can learn a thing or two about how you can use multiple elements to make the narrative more dynamic.

We have some problems with lagging and lip sync tho. It's worth to spend some time, i wouldn't invest too much and turn into my main MMORPG.

Morph and hooks mechanics makes world exploration fun again.

Cute and the level of enjoyment really depends of your emotional state.
It can be fun and nostalgic like watching a romantic movie, regardless of your hope in love or life itself.

I recommend to play while drinking coffee :)

-Performance sucks
-shooting isn't that nice
-your ammo are extremely limited
-enemies are kinda cliche, constantly screaming "omg you are so f*cked hahahaha..look how evil and smart i am hahahahaha"
-when your enemies dies, their bodies fall suddenly. Isn't gore or cool.

HOOOOWEVER

+"Dungeon" system works nicely
+Battles vs boss are cool too
+Interesting atmosphere and graphics
+Organized progression, sometimes boring.

Tbh, THe Frist Descendeant feels like a mixture between Skyforge (RIP), Warframe and Destiny.
I am able to recommend if you want to kill some time, however, i wouldn't play or take it too serious tho.

You simply can't keep the same hype built for 10years. Negative reviews are given by impatient people with issues to manage expectations.
This isn't like we are playing post ARR, Dawntrail feels more like Heavensward + Stormblood.

It's interesting how stuff works: back in Endwalker, when we travel using the new Aetheryte technique and everyone feels sick, no one complained about it and the fact that Estinien is bad with coins. WHy? because we know those characters for years and it's funny to see them out of place. Who felt annoyed when Alphinaud jumped into the water in Stormblood? Wuk Lamat is just following the opposite direction, she is way above Lyse and ARR Alphinaud already. She is not arrogant, just childish.

Every expansion has up and downs: ARR has post ARR, Heavensward has Alexander and Diadem v1; Stormblood has Lyse, weird pacing and Eureka v1; Shadowbringers has volley; Endwalker has lopporits and later on slower labyrinthos.

During Live Letters they focused more in technical aspects (new systems and graphics) than anything else (lore) because they are working on setting up a decent codebase for more 10 years of development.

My bet: During 7.x, Dawntrail won't be big in terms of lore, but great in terms of content. Probably better than any previous expansion. If you are waiting for the same emotional damage (built during 10 years), you may want to leave and come back in a few years.

The lore behind viper makes clear they are looking for simplification in terms of lore right now. What viper do? vipers act as a snake and they hunt big and dangerous monsters, and they like it. That's all. There is nothing magic behind it, no void, no aether, nothing. Just unga bunga.


In short:

+ Animations
+ Graphics update with modern technologies (FSR 2.2 via mods tho)
+ Grass sounds
+ Natural mounts movements
+ Hrotgals looks detailed and cutscenes really want to show how nice they look like.
+ No waiting time to log in (servers upgrade promised years ago finally is working)
+ Viper is an aggressive beast, a nice mixture between Ninja, Dancer and Reaper.
+ New filter/blacklist works decently
+ TRUST system is definitely worth it. You can level up viper/picto in a few hours (3-4h) from 80 to 90.

- Lightning update destroyed some scenes where darkness/shadows plays a central role to feel immersive.
- Dual channel dye doens't work as intended for every equipment. Manual inspection needed by the devs.
- Weird choice of music theme for Tuliyollal (day)

i feel like facial animations and characters graphics could be better. World graphics and physics are amazing.
