I don't usually review games, but when I do, it's for great reason!

I had a lot of fun playing Helldivers2 - damn, the chaos, friendship and democracy is well put together!
Sure, there are bugs (and bots)! and well actual game-breaking bugs... but all that aside, a good game with devs that really care behind the scenes (at least that's what it feels like)

But as of today (03/05/2024) I have to negatively review HD2. because Sony decided to force upon us to sign into PSN - with the excuse of "for the sake of our community's health". - PSN last had a databreach on October 2023...

Everyone says vote with your wallet... I did, I voted on HD2, and well, wrong bet my friends - so I ask you, follow me negatively review the game to show Sony what a ♥♥♥♥-move this is.
If at all possible, refund the game to hopefully hurt Sony where they care the most.

Devs, if you read this, nothing against you all, thank you for all the fun hours - FOR DEMOCRACY!

EDIT!
It worked - Sony has pulled back the requirement and we can once again enjoy Helldivers!!
Should you be reading this and have you left a negative review, please remember to change that vote (if you feel like it) - the Devs do not deserve their game in the slums because of Sony's greed!
ALL LOVE TO ARROWHEAD AND DEMOCRACY!

Early Access Review
Hi there, hello! - Yes, the game is in early access, yes... it does indeed need a fair few QoL and general improvements, but those are to come later down the tracks (pun intended)

I am roughly 3-4 hours into the game, and have quite enjoyed it for what it is. It draws many comparisons to Raft, but in a 3D space (void), rather than 2D surface of water.

The game, as far as I have experienced it, is very linear, as you're one "one" track and not able to change direction or pursue different destinations - but the game eludes to this being a thing in the future, as another train zooms past you . This means, for the most part, you are stuck with where your train is set to go, likely for story reasons.

speaking of railroading, the tutorial is... well it's at least there, but some improvements to come! the 45 seconds that a tooltip is up, is way too long (for me), especially considering you can re-read them in the Journal. I found myself attempting to just ignore the tooltip and let it go away by itself (because I didn't want to stop what I was doing to dismiss [Hold F for 2-5 seconds] the tooltip). but after 10-15 seconds, I had enough and needed to remove the tip to see the rest of my screen (it takes up a good 25% of your screen)
Some things are also not mentioned in the tutorial, like the fact that you can melee with [F], not very "useful" but, nice to know and weird to be surprised by! - one thing I was missing, was how to equip food, I tried to pull it into the "Slot #1", didn't work - What you are supposed to know, is that holding [Q] opens a wheel with all consumeables in your inventory (if there was a tooltip with it, I am terribly sorry, I did not see it!)

Attempting to stay on the tooltip topic, I feel we should swap the information around - the first note (at least when reading the one about saturation (food)) the first bit of it, is a block of text that explains you why the character in game needs food, and then there's the last little two lines that explain why food is important as a mechanic [prevents passive health regen]

You've made it this far? great, I am glad you could do that alone!
Speaking of being alone, that was how I played this game... and I desperately needed people to play with. Alone, I needed to juggle: Picking up resources, Stuffing resources into crafters, Keeping the shark (big floating void shark) off the train, and the leeches!, shoot landmines, move the train alone the tracks, prepare for the next encounter.

To me, alone, those are too many things - especially considering something like crafters take time to produce an item, not a long time, so you can't really do anything in between, unless you queue up say 5+ of one item. It felt bad as a solo player having to wait while balancing so many other things, but I can totally see it work in Co-Op where there are more hands on deck.

I never... sped up the train, other than when the game told me to... I was moving at snail pace so that I didn't need to start/stop the train while gathering resources and moving as slow as I did meant the leeches had no impact on the train, so they were just travel companions. - it gave me a lot of extra freedom, but the above topic was still in some way "too" stressful.

Apart from really only mentioning issues, I recommend the game, because it's early access, the idea seems interesting, and with enough love and care, this can become a great adventure game!

Tl;Dr - Wonderful game with a lot of potential! Solo is difficult but doable and even more fun with friends!

Hey, thanks for not only reading the Tl;Dr.

I have played about 12 hours and haven't officially won the game yet, but i have loved every hour of it!

Gameplay -
You are running around as a brutal viking, plundering, smashing and destroying everything in front of you while going home and sharing the loot with the rest of your village to further improve your chance of survival.

There's currently 4 weapons with some unique twists to them
Bow, Axe, Sword and Hammer - as well as a shield.
It isn't a lot of weapons, but considering that there are elemental types of each of them and different tiers, it makes up for not having that many weapons.
Other than weapons there are classes, you can specialize your viking into one of eight different types who all have their own special passive abilities and buffs/benefits, these are unlocked through previous playthroughs and can take a bit of time to get unlocked given the different requirements.

Gameplay loop
You spawn in and is set out to survive the first few nights and prepare the base by finding resources. Each night your base is getting attack and can then spend the day as you wish, gathering resources, killing enemies or exploring - After a set amount of time A jotun (giant) spawns, which is a large base-wrecking creature that woke up and chose violence...
- I find it enjoyable, sure it is a bit difficult especially playing alone, but very much doable.

The loop wouldn't be possible without a return-stone as well as shrines, the return stone returns you to your village after three seconds, so you can be far out and away and in the span of five seconds be back at your base to defend it against an attack.

Shrines are like small checkpoints, you can teleport between different shrines and farm what creatures you need or explore further than last day because of the checkpoint!

There's a bunch of different biomes that offer different enemies (they feel somewhat stale as they are all themed towards the same kind of combat, but I have reason to believe that, that is just due to being Saga 1) The different biomes are themed towards the different elements, which means you will learn where to go to get the resources for a specific weapon etc.

Personal opinion? currently 7-8 out of 10. Why?

Well, I enjoyed playing the game so much so that my first few playthroughs was where I lost all thought of time, my eyes blinked and suddenly 8 hours had passed!
Why isn't it a 10? well, I have only played alone, so there might be some issues with playing with other people that I can't speak of, but for my perspective there are a few bugs, both big and small and the game doesn't feel finished, it doesn't feel all that polished - so a 7-8 sounds fair.

This review is written, not only to try and spread some good thoughts and happy memories, but also to teach you, the reader a little about the game before jumping in! as of writing, the game has a mixed review on Steam and I see that as being unfair - it's not perfect, but shouldn't be below 70% as it currently is (61%)

Once again, thanks for reading - have you any questions, concerns or comments, leave them either below or find me for a good discussion at their Discord - which btw is one wholesome bunch of community! I like the shape of it!

Early Access Review
Been following and playing the game for two weeks (beta and demo) and have had a really good time!
First of all, the game is rather new which means the community is absolutely wonderful! (With an active development team too!)

There are issues with the game, its not perfect by any means... The game is Early Access after all, and with time the game will be not only improved but if both the dev's and community's help it will be perfected!

It feels alot like your classic RTS, get resources, build your base and ATTACK!
Dwarfheim is different in the sense that you constanly have to keep in touch with your two teammates, how many resources can I spend as to not cribble my miner or warrior? Can i take mapcontrol and leave my teammates defensive for just a moment or is that weakness enough for the enemy to capitalize?

The Warrior is the most strategic class, keep on top of the enemy movement and make sure that your army is at the right place at the right time.
The builder is to make sure you have food, wood, housing and healing! And even buffs when it comes to the lategame!
The Miner feels a lot like you are playing some spinoff of Factorio or other factory-games, manage your resources and forge your metals without burning coal or stone as those are useful resources too!

I Recommend the game wholeheartedly but please do keep in mind that for now, the game is in EA so you will most like see bugs here and there and the Q times might be longer than you would like...
Whats the best fix for this? Jump into the game's discord and report the bugs, come into the High Halls and laugh with me and the other dwarfs either because the bug was too hilarious or because we are singing some weird song while waiting in Q!

Currently, the game deserves as much love and attention as you can give it.

10/10 would break again.

Also, be weary of the Bewinged Lizards!

Edit:
The developers have made two major content patches and countless hotfixes since release to EA and they are still keeping up with the amount of suggestions and listening to the community!

Hey everyone, its a wonderful game, you should buy it and the DLC - After birth.

its a very fun game to play alone and with friends. funny combinations and weird items to use.
Buy it ^^

I would rate it 8/10.

Though, dear memeber of Steam, would you please help me rate this idea to finally make it to two DLC's in this awesome game...

i have 2 ideas that might be a very fun gameplay, if it finally gets to the creators of Binding of Isaac and Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

Idea 1
Online runs. Could be named Binding of Isaac: Birth of the enemy.
In this DLC could you be able to play with and against other players.
2 players, joining the same server would run 2 different runs.
after some time, maybe may the server run with chosen time 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 minutes.
when the 5 minutes is over, the 2 players join the same floor, without any exit before only one is alive.

Idea 2
Fruit!!! its almost all to say. i would call it Binding of Isaac: Birth to the Plants.
In this DLC, the player could get fruit items, suchs as a Watermelon bomb which would be thrown in air and explode in melon seeds. Banana - Boomarang tears with curved yellow tears and some kind of debuff to enemies or buff to the player.
