While the game seems to feel like successor of OpenTTD, it is unplayable. Vehicles get 'stuck' at stations, waiting for goods, while the factory production goes down. Therefore ruining any game economy that was set up. This happens blazingly fast (in terms of a year at max).

Difficulty settings doesn't help, and it gets way too annoying.

Don't buy, it's waste of money.

There is one resemblance between Half Life universe and this, and that is cyrillic text. While 11 years Valve says f*** you to all the fans of Half Life for this: Dota and stupid card game.

To not get deleted right away - this game has terrible, slow controls. Characters are grey, not interesting... spells are meh. Turn rates for characters make it feel uncontrollable. Community is as toxic as in LoL. You're better of with LoL because that at least has gameplay, and you support company that didn't killed Half Life.

One of the best games I've ever played. Or is it more an interactive story? Hell who the hell cares, this is just a must have.

The story is mature, it can clearly fight big names in sci-fi and storytelling. Names like Ray Bradbury (who also inspired the authors), movies like The Butterfly Effect, and anime like Higurashi nu naku koro ni. It almost feels like you are living a story in this adventure.

As for execution, the graphics perfectly fit the game, the authors didn't aim for triple-A photorealistic graphics, but a stylized one. And hell, that makes this story even better. Gameplay, this is how adventures in 21st century should look like. It is the way 3D adventures should go and tell stories.

I see that these authors did what I'm aiming for (and what I'd like to create one day). They didn't just create another game, they told a story - a masterpiece.

One of the best RPGs in recent years. Honestly I'm not sure to which game should I compare it, each Piranha Bytes game is its own experience, and I love them for that.

I loved all games in Gothic series and I love all games in Risen series. From the Risen series, I would say that Risen 3 is probably the best one of them, even comparable to the golden Gothic 2.

The story of this game is solid, it is not the best, not the worst. I've been quite used to bad stereotype-like stories in RPGs (especially open world ones), like TES series, Two Worlds series, or Dragon Age series (in case of more linear ones). Each of these games suffer from black-and-white storyline (from the named ones I consider the plot one of the better ones).

The gameplay is typical for Piranha Bytes games. The combat system is something different, and very good (unless you just left-click all day long, which is a bad way to play this game and it can ruin your experience). It is better than in TES games, way better compared to Dragon Age series, but a lot worse compared to Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.
In this game you can actually dodge hits (which is very common in medeival fencing schools), but well, don't expect realistic fight simulator. But it is action enough, you won't get bored. Plus, guns are very good addition into the game.

Dialogue lines are well done, audio for them is also quite good. As for the quests, there is a whole lot of them, but I'd like more impact on game in general, and longer side quest lines. Music is one of the best, it perfectly suits the game.

Visuals are also very good, very nice fire particles, water splashes and particle effects in general. The authors did quite a job on light and shadows, each single island is in a bit different stylized art set and it works perfectly. The graphics quality can compete with any other AAA game.

Of course there are few things that look bad. One of them is, that after performing major actions to close gates to underworld, the islands look unchanged. For me, if green grass would return to that areas it would be perfect. I would see that I did some major impact on game world and it would made me even more happy.
Second thing is, I don't really see further lore connection with Risen series, yes it is in the same world, there are some of the characters that were in previous games, but the lore connection is weak. I'm comparing mainly to Gothic 1 - Gothic 2 games here, where the lore connection between those game was really strong and good.

Anyways, this game is worth it. I know it seems average, it isn't. Don't believe metacritic, as some fans of older Piranha Bytes games are downvoting, without even playing it, sadly...
