(This is a user review, based on specific experiences with my machine, not an overall look at the game and its aspects)

Runs like absolute crap with innate engine problems on newer hardware (980 Ti | i7-6700k) 2560x1440 @ 144Hz)

Singleplayer encourages long playthroughs with high levels of progression but falls so far short with buggy vassals and factions that end up ruining the gameplay and progression with rampant defections.

Multiplayer is good but hardly inspirational with the meta based on feintspam.

Looking forward to Bannerlord (if not dead by the time it comes out)

If you keep covering all those air-vents with crates and vending machines it's going to get stale in here sir.

Numerous Challenges to really sharpen those Dishonored skills to the point of a Razor.

Includes the Ultimate Dishonored Combat Test, Back Alley Brawl (expert).

A must have for any hardcore Dishonored Fan.

However achievement hunters pls go.
(Seriously if you are going to get this because you just want to unlock achievements you're gonna have a bad time)

Great game in its time, excellent stuff..

Coming back to it in 2020 though, the age is really showing and not in a great way.
Graphics and all graphical systems are still fantastic, stylised looks give a big leg up and are largely timeless. (hooray, smooth modern 2k 144fps gameplay too!) with no horrid frame-pacing & hitching BS! looking at you D2))

But gameplay is suffering, ghost swings, ghost hits, ghost blocking - the detection in combat only handles a certain "speed" and if you go over it, say from being ultra comfortable/experienced from a game like Vermintide 2; it falls apart, both the flow of combat and the interactions of it.

Even with the Ultimate Difficulty Mod which still holds up, the lack of NewGamePlus+ or any bonecrafting systems means this game has almost zero replayability past the first two or so runs. (on around my 10th run including fast paced successful perma-death runs)

It's really a great shame that Dishonored 2 got so much post game support and is such a god awful mess mechanically - The first Dishonored easily deserves it a lot more.

If i could atleast mod in certain bone charms i could pair that with some hacks (infinite mana but no gadgets and only blink) and get more hours and gameplay from it but at this point- see 'draw water from rock'.
