**Disclaimer** I was a kickstarter backer for this game back when it was first announced. This may affect my review to some degree.

As of playing the game, there is only one word that comes to mind: Disappointment. Thankfully I was fortunate for backing this game at 30, as the asking price of 60 does not justify the product: In it's current state, We Happy Few is a broken, jarring, and clunky mess.

Where to start? Well it's buggy. Too buggy. To name one example, I was sneaking behind an enemy, armed with only a glass bottle, which wasn't a weapon, and approached the enemy to choke him unconscious. Instead of seeing the chokehold animation, the enemy character was instantly on the floor, with the words "Deceased" next to him; so much for wanting to do a pacifist run, I had to reload an old save.

ANOTHER Example is the fact that entering the first town and becoming "one of them" ripping my uncle's fine tweed, I found that simply pressing to talk to NPCs some randomly disappear into the aether, never to be seen again until I pop back in from the micro dungeon pit arena next door. some appear to be sitting where nowhere near a chair, like there are trying to pop a log on the bog standing up, or laying down with bent legs up as if the were supposed to be sitting.

The AI is virtually gone. I wasn't sneaking behind someone, and they got pissed because their back was turned to me, out in broad daylight, in the public square of the first town. Kick one off, and you get the hive, even though they were no where near where you did the original deed, and you can easily just find a few bushes to hide and somehow magically they can't find you, unless that glitches (which it did) and the cover is rendered moot.

The only saving grace, would have been the story, and how I wish to all of the divine that would keep me playing it. But because of the first two problems, it does not inspire me to find out what happened to Percy and Prudence, because of all the broken mess I have to slog through to get closure.

This game, when pitched sounded great! It was a satire game, had the elements of what made a good satire game's atmosphere, but bad gameplay decisions have bogged this one down. This is why I think the developers should, if they wish to salvage this product, heed this review:

At it's core, the game plays like a Fallout Game, with emphasis in exploration and crafting tools and health. You can definitely keep those, but do us all a favour and chuck out hunger and thirst. These are from a bygone flooded age of survival games, and while fine in early access, was certainly not welcome here in the finished product as many have pointed out, the most expensive skill point in the skill tree does not eliminate the fatigue penalty of hunger and thirst.

Seriously the focus should be on only ONE mechanic on top of the core game: The Joy mechanic, and you couldn't even do that right, on top of the mess it's currently in. The cooldown is broken and slow, you OD on Joy too quickly, and the minute you are spotted as a downer, AI hive kicks in.

Until a drastic change is made, I will not be playing this game in the near future. Uninstalled.
