How is a unity engine game this broken?!?!?

Phenomenal speedrunning game, maybe the best ever made.

A puzzle-platforming game that achieves a perfect balance between difficulty and puzzle complexity without disturbing its calm, almost dream-like tone. The art style is fine, reminiscent of older flash games, but the vibrant colors in every frame make it interesting to look at. I could do without the narration for this nothing-sandwich of a story. It might have been better to just remove it altogether, but it occurs so infrequently in the game that I'll give it a pass. I have to admit, I'm a bit more lenient with my criticisms of this game because you can usually pick it up on sale for $3, or in my case, during the many times they just give it out for free.

Fantastic movement, great combat, and large-scale battles. Too bad you won't experience any of it considering there isn't a single human playing this game. The developers didn't even bother populating lobbies with bots, and the PvE mode has received zero updates since day one of launch. Whether they make it free to play or lower the price, whatever solution they come up with at this point will be too little, too late.

An arcady, battlefield-esque shooter that does a better job at promoting teamplay than battlefield. Who would have thunk? The game is solid on all fronts. The gunplay is smooth, the animations are fast and fluid, and the pacing is very flexible with any play style you wish to adopt (tactical or run n' gun). Although graphical fidelity may be low, the low polygon artstyle makes up with both better visual clarity and performance than 99% of the shooters I've played in these recent years. All of this combined with 254-player servers and maps that offer immense destruction and vehicles at the price of $15 USD is a steal.

This is one of the worst cases of me falling for nostalgia bait. I don't even know how my younger self enjoyed this. The gameplay is repetitive and mediocre, 90% of the story is exposition dumps, and the characters are as dull as bricks. To make it worse, the difficulty slider seemingly does nothing. I noticed zero difference between playing the game on the hardest and the easiest difficulties.

I wholly recommend this game and its nostalgia-inducing plots, but definitely not for this price. We're talking about a flash game being ported to Steam, lower that ♥♥♥♥ to $5 please. Most players are looking at a total game time of 1-1.5 hours at most, and that's if they don't get bored with trying to go for the many unique endings. Wait for a sale, or get it through other cheaper vendors.

I'm usually not the type to enjoy idle games, though there is the occasional gem like Melvor Idle. The issue with Adventure Capitalist is that there's almost no strategy or thinking involved in the decisions you make. Since you don't actively engage in any work yourself (aside from waiting), it doesn't feel rewarding. It's nothing more than a reskin of Cookie Clicker. Keep purchasing upgrades, and keep watching that big number get bigger.

Feels like it's still in the the really early stages of a beta test. Gunplay can feel good at times, but it's offset by the terrible hit registration and player animations. The movement system flows well with the pacing of the matches, but it is far too easy to learn in order to provide a decent skill gap between new and experienced players.

Certain elements like the combat and platforming are acceptable, but they will start to get repetitive after the first hour or two. What really shines in this game, and all of the titles part of the Nosgoth franchise, is the impressive world-building and storytelling. The dynamic between Kain and Raziel isn't the typical black and white, good vs. evil conflict. No, there is far more at play here, with deep layers of ulterior motives and tamperings of fate and destiny. The voice acting is also easily the best out of any single game I've played. They hired the most renowned voices in the world of theater, giving performances that are reminiscent of Shakespearean theatre. The presentation is also gorgeous. It boasts a unique, gothic-themed art style and score that fit really well with the narrative.
