Once again, another fantastic product. As a long time user of Card Creator I was very eager to try their latest software but was hesitant as the pricepoint was much steeper than its predecessor. I am writing this now to say that it was 100% worth it.

Not only has the UI been revamped but the overall performance and breadth of features make this easily the best tabletop game making toolkit I've ever used. Even if you're only making card games, this is a fantastic product to use.

An incredible game, do NOT let the graphics put you off of this experience. For such a small team they've made one of the funnest chill shooters this year. Highly recommend you try it out. It rivals AAA games in features, polish, and fun.

Quick reivew, this game is a blast. Don't let the graphics fool you, this game has every kind of QoL feature you can imagine. The development is spectacular.

It's essentially Dwarf Fortress + Terraria + a little bit of Animal crossing, and so much more. Highly recommend.

Fantastic game. Squad excels at creating a team environment where cooperation and tomfoolery go hand in hand. It's faster than Arma but slower than Battlefield and fits perfectly as a strategic action shooter.

A microphone is almost required to get the best of this game. Not only are people helpful to new players, they're also ridiculously fun to listen to and scream with as the mortars fall around you.

DO get this game if you're looking for a slower experience with more social and strategic chops than Insurgency. If you love arma but hate how it controls, this is right where you want to be.

DO NOT get this game if you're looking for an arcade shooter where you're constantly in combat. You'll be running, sneaking, and building for more than half of the game. If crawling 5 minutes through a field to ambush 2 players isn't your cup of tea, try BattleBit Remastered instead.

Sons of the Forest feels like the game Endnight games wanted the original Forest to be. It IS the same game, albeit with new graphics and a fresh coat of visual polish. The bones of "The Forest" are everywhere. Unfortunately that also means that the outdated survival mechanics and glitchy combat systems also survived the trip back to the island.

In our playthough it was clear that the game's visual fidelity was highly prioritized and the UX suffers immensely from this decision. A perfect example of this is the inventory. It looks fantastic. You can see all your items as well as the spaces that will be filled later in the game. However, using it is a nightmare. If you want an item off-screen you have to hold your cursor near the edge and wait for the slow camera to move. Then, if you select an item that's part of a pile of items you have to move your mouse each time you select one. I know this sounds nit-picky but it's just sad to see a game go through years of development and to have cut and paste features with little to no improvement.

Another example. You have a phone that allows you to view the map in a GPS style view. However, because you hold the phone at an angle, it shows your location arrow NOT where your character is facing. It's realistic, and looks cool, but makes absolutely zero sense from a usability standpoint.

I want to like this game, I really do. The original forest pushed boundaries in a way that no other survival game was doing at the time, however, Sons of the Forest does not deliver on that front, even in the slightest. Wait for a sale, but don't wait for updates. I can't imagine them making any drastic changes in Early Access that would make this feel like a new game. If this is your first Forest game experience it might sound like I'm being a bit harsh, but if you just watch some playthoughs of the original game, you'll quickly notice that it's eerily similar, especially since the original game made over $150 million.

[STORY SPOILERS AHEAD]
Again, sadly, the game falls very short on delivering a coherent story. Lots of cool little chambers and fantastic scenery, but absolutely no explanation for events and makes zero sense in relation to the first story. They introduce a new artifact and then show an entire [REDACTED]??!?!?!? but then immediately dismiss it and nothing happens. Even the main character from the first game shows up, but his alien blood issues are entirely dropped and hes now just an old man that randomly saves the day. They're also now canonically christian demons? It just feels half-baked. Again, not in the way that they could give updates and make a big difference, but in a way that feels like its not a priority, visuals are paramount.

Absolutely cannot recommend this enough. It's always a hard sell because this game's learning curve is a vertical cliff, but I encourage you to keep climbing. This release is much more accessible and I hope that it reaches a brand new audience.

No other game out there has the emergent storytelling that DF has, period. I'll update this post when I go over 100hrs on my opinions about the new GUI. Since I have 400+ on the non-steam version, I'm sure it won't be long.

As Tide games are known to do, this game has the most satisfying, impactful, and gritty melee combat of any game released to date. From the ogryn's meaty slap to the Power Sword's electric swing, every action looks, sounds, and FEELS like it should. But now, ontop of this vast melee system that FatShark has built for years, they have added a suite of ranged options, and it's just as good, if not better.

The game is beautiful from graphics to mechanics and I truly cannot wait to see how it evolves. It it receives even half of the support that VT2 did, it will surely be their biggest and best title for years to come.

To be a fair and honest review, there are some issues with stability at the moment, but I have full faith they'll keep working until this game is as polished as the golden throne.

Best played with friends.

The game is still fantastic. I'm through about 65% of the content now and it's absolutely worth the cost for the hours of fun, and future content as well. The actual gameplay is replaying a good number of missions, with modifiers, and gathering materials to craft the best loadout possible. I'm starting to break into harder difficulties as I'm learning how to make different builds, and the matchmaking is pairing me up with similar skilled players. I think I've crashed twice in my playtime since my last review, stability has greatly improved.

You SHOULD buy this game if:
- You like a difficult hardcore co-op experience
- You enjoy strategizing with different builds
- You enjoy a "one more game" progression system
- You have friends who like planning and execution

You should NOT buy this game if:
- You want a roguelike, different everytime, experience
- You aren't a fan of grinding for loot
- You want a relaxing hack & slasher
- You want to master weapons quickly

24 more in-game hours and a few months later, the core gameplay is still a blast. Melee is still frantic, ranged is still strategic, and the multitude of weapons still feel amazing and unique. A few new weapons and maps have been added, but they're not breaking the mold in any way, just good reliable additions.

However, I feel obligated to talk about how the game stalls over time. From my 81hr review, the "grind" aspect of this game originally is trying to beat each level on its highest difficulty. Once you complete that, the only incentive is to attain better gear (and maybe try for achievements to get cosmetics). This most certainly is a snoozefest for the majority of players, (at least going by steam charts numbers).

I would absolutely still recommend buying this game though, as the cost per hours of fun is certainly worth it. Just know that if you intend on playing this, and only this, you may be disappointed.

The combat system absolutely carries this game, and if they can slowly but surely add more content it will be an incredible game in the long haul.

With every major update they continue to address QoL issues and the game is now in a very good state. The new class system is phenomenal and really smooths out the progression for each class.

They added a "For the emperor" button and now everyone is shouting it like rock&stone. And with release on Xbox, finding a match is always quick.

Highly recommend getting into it, now more than ever. You can make unique classes and builds for a long long time.

They also teased more levels and additional content coming soon. Excited, but really looking forward to new unique additions. There's only so many basic mission types you can add before they start to blend together.

With a few more hours under my belt and a lot more familiarity with the new build system I can confidently say that this is my favorite game of the past 5-6 years. There is an endless depth to building classes and learning weapons that is built ontop of a basic combat system that is so SO much fun.

The part 1 anniversary update added a new map and it makes me incredibly hopeful for the future. The new map is incredible. The art is beautiful and distinct from the other areas, the soundtrack is blood pumping mayhem, the difficulty and design of the level is superb. If this is the route that the game will continue on, I am insanely excited for whats to come.

Cannot recommend this game enough.

They've updated the game with Stimms and a new special boss fight. Easily the best content the game has gotten. The hardmode fight is awesome and requires real teamwork / strategy. Not much more to say this time, mostly working through grinding out better versions of the new variants. Would LOVE a melta but that might be a ways off. Hoping that their content team is back full swing after the holidays, if its anything like their most recent missions, we're going to have so many incredible experiences.

This game is great, it's a tactical melee co-op experience that really is unlike anything else. It has similar vibes to a Left 4 Dead style game but because of it's melee focused mechanics its set apart from anything else you've played.

The classes are fun, there's variety in the weapons, and the higher difficulties are challenging in a way that makes you want to retry them, instead of put the game down.

If you're reading this, you're probably looking for something to play before Darktide comes out. Not only is this a great idea, this will always play very differently from Darktide and will honestly be fun to come back to time and time again.

As much as I want to recommend this, it's just not worth it at the moment. I beat the story mode on normal in 2.5 hours, which isn't worth the $20 price tag imo. It was a lot of fun, if it's on sale I'd recommend picking it up.

There is an issue of replay-ability as well. There's no after mission score or anything of the like, so once you've played through, the only thing you can do is pick a harder difficulty or grind the last few achievements you missed. I hope they keep working on this, it's just a slice away from greatness.

Absolutely fan-tastic. Squadrons is the perfect niche game for me. Easy to learn, hard to master, full story, fun multiplayer, good progression, and cosmetics. It has it all.

Every game feels like a movie. Literally just flying is incredibly fun. There's even a practice mode where you can control spawning of enemies and obstacle courses just to practice and have fun.

I cannot recommend this enough. If you like flight sims, or challenging games, this is for you.
