The community manager 'spitz' tossed a big temperature tantrum and with tears in their eyes told everyone who was voicing dislike of having to make a 2nd account with PSN after months of owning the game and not having to do so that they should leave negative reviews on steam.

One should read how they community managers have handled the feedback on this game. The toxicity from the community managers is pretty sickening and disgusting.

One of the best RTS games ever made! I have been playing AoE 2 since it was on MSN gaming zone way back when, I could write a very long review about how great this game is but instead I will just say 'try it and see for yourself'!

If you like RTS games you won't be disappointed!

EDIT: They are still supporting this game, have had constant updates as well as new expansions added to the game. Seriously, try this game and see for yourself!

Highly do NOT recommend. Their cash shop works just fine in a beta. Their servers don't work fine at all in NA.

Do NOT support this level of greed. The cash shop shouldn't be working just fine when people can't even play the game. Shows you their priorities.

EDIT: I love the white knights and fan boys giving awards because I gave an accurate review.

Game simply is not fun and lots of other games do the gun play better.

Cons(lots):
You spawn and have to reload - only game I have ever played that forces you to spawn back and then spend 20 seconds not moving to reload...why not just have us 'reload' while dead.
Reloading takes 20 seconds - that is right, you shoot then have to spend the next twenty seconds not moving and reloading, if you move you stop reloading and have to start all over again.
No hit marker - I spent the entire time I played staying in a line with a group and doing volley fire, zero hit markers, zero notifications you killed anybody.
Boring gunplay - Between reloading for twenty seconds while you can't move, no hit markers and the slow speed of moving around with a gun this game is just plain boring when it comes to gun play...in an FPS that is a very bad thing.
No 'map' - you can press 'T' to see only a few people and their locations. That is it. No map to help guide and those 'leading' don't often know which way to go either.
Horrible battle info leads to teamkilling - Every single time I died I was teamkilled...while I was standing with a large group in line formation...there simply is no way to tell if friend or foe and due to the 'realism' there is no way to tell a map or anything.
Getting into a fight/battle takes too long - You die then spawn back with a group...that isn't even fighting or holding a line...just standing a million miles away and hoping to hit something you can't even see.
No 'freedom' - You can't even move away from a group, you do and your vision turns to this ridiculously awful green and red vision, it gets dark and impossible to see anything...all because you went 10 feet away from a group, you will walk away once then realize this game puts this ridiculous mechanic in to make you follow some idiot who doesn't even know where they are going.
No in-game tutorial or info - I had to google how to even melee in the game and even then it wasn't obvious, that is a horrible design. If you click on 'tutorial' it legit loads some random webpage to show you youtube videos. That is right boys and girls this game couldn't even give you the videos IN GAME.
I could keep going on the cons, seriously it is that bad of a game.

Pros: Graphics are okay.

This game is terrible. The gameplay is no fun. The mechanics are no fun.
The only 'war of rights' was the right to own slaves - bottom line. The confederate side was ALWAYS full and the main side everyone played. Take from that what you want but most people playing this game want to play the terrorists, the losers, the confederates.

Do NOT buy this game, don't waste your time when there is so much better games that capture the rifle and gun play of this time period way better than this game does. This games only draw is 'hurr durr lets act like southern slavers saying racial stuff in a game, so unique and funny and we totally aren't like that but totally want to play as the south and be racist as can be'

Giving streamers early access to this game we all paid for is the most anti-consumer thing I have ever seen. I don't suggest or recommend this game as that is some serious anti-consumer bull crap nor do I suggest anyone support The Fun Pimps going forward because if this is how they run a business then let them die out for hating their buying customers.

Let them release a streamer only game, see how that works out for them since everyone else who bought the game is just a 2nd class customer to them.

Originally I would have recommended this game. All you need to know is they said they were stopping paid DLC and they did, for a short time...then a new guy came in and said 'I don't care about the customers, we are bringing back paid DLC'.

So they lied and screwed over the customer and they did not care one bit. Do not buy this game, the developer: lies, is anti-consumer and straight up says they don't care about the customer.

Once again, game used to be good but then the new guy wanted more $$$ and to screw over customers and he did exactly that. Do not buy/support this greed.

Foxhole is a lot of fun. You need to have strategy in order to win. Other reviews have said it and it is true, you won't be THE soldier but you will be a soldier amongst many who all have to help in order to win. Highly suggest this game.

I HIGHLY suggest this game. This game is hilarious, fun and amazing to play.

I haven't laughed so hard while having amazing action in a long time.

This game is a very big positive for anybody who loves history or this time period. The guns are historical, which means this isn't 'run and gun' cod.

The people who play this game are a HUGE positive. Watching a guy yell 'CHARGE THEM, FOR FRANCE!' only to watch him run over a hill and instantly get blown back...was hilarious. That happens...all the time in this game. I can't get enough of the hilarity other players add to this game.

The people who play this game also make it so much more enjoyable. Having people actually form a group and hold off a charging enemy at the wall is 'palms are sweaty' type of playing. It is action packed, it is raw, it is violent and it is hilarious to hear the enemy when they get in range and yell 'DIE SWINE!' and then see them get shanked with a bayonet before they even finish their war chant.

The game runs well, the combat is fun, smooth and well done. The gameplay is aboslutely enjoyable and I highly suggest this title(I know, it is in E.A. but hear me out...check the forums and whatnot for this game...you will see the devs care and are working hard).

This wouldn't be a review without saying the cons. This game doesn't have many, it really doesn't. The melee system needs some heavy work done to it(area of hit compared to what it should be is out of whack, hit accuracy is off and hitboxes are not really there), they need a type of auto-balance(I fully understand that with teams of people playing together it is harder to have full 1 to 1 balance) and they need to add in a system like Verdun where you are forced to defend/attack a position...to many people try to play C.o.D. style and run off on their own way off to the sides of the map.

As you can see...the pros are: A highly enjoyable game, A smooth running game, A fun and engaging game, An awesome community.

The cons are: Melee combat needs some work(you are...maybe in melee 10% of the time) and a balance to maps/teams.

This game is a very high upvote and high suggestion. All who enjoy FPS, history, teamwork or fun/goofy communities would love this game.

When you have devs who can only say 'we totally have stuff coming soon' and never deliver stuff that is needed...your game will die. This game is dead, look at the pro reviews, notice how they even say that? Take the hint, don't buy this dead fish.

First, go check The Mean Greens steam db stats. You can clearly see when this game was in the humble bundle and how quickly(literally, within a week) the players left. Also you can see when this game had 600ish players...that also mostly left within 1 week.

Now that you can see that people have played the game and left quickly, lets get into why:

Little to no customization - Nothing to customize...no kits to make...nothing to make you any different than everyone else that plays. You don't even get to pick which kind of army man you are.

Weapons - You are given all the weapons from the get-go, pretty sure there is still 6 weapons, that is it. Nothing to work towards, everyone else has the exact same few weapons, no customization for the weapons, no skins...literally...nothing.

No skill levels or rank difference - this is a multi-part issue. Some of it can't be solved because the devs refuse to add what was needed from day 1, some of it is because the lack of players. There is ZERO type of ranking, match-making(other than the pathetically poor, REALLY pathetically poor 'join a game') or any other type of placement. If you DO get into a game, good chance there will be a good player on 1 team just dominating. That is no fun, not even a little.

No bots - For a dead game(yes dead, taking 12 months to get above 70 players during PEAK time is dead, go ahead and check, Dec 26th 2016 was the last time it had 70+ players other than just the other day) this is the worst decision, ever. No idea why there was no bots added in from the get-go. IF you get into a game, chances are it won't be close to full, if you can even get into a game when people are on.

No single player - This game is F'ing dead, and yet the devs don't want to release any single player. So...YOU DON'T EVEN GET TO PLAY. Literally. If no one is on to match into a 2-3 player game with(yeah...no one to match so no one to fill games) then you don't play, simple as that. Do you really want to buy a game that you can't play?

Lackluster devs - This one is a tough one. The devs have made 2 new maps since I bought the game...yet that is it. They KNOW it is dead and they need to do something...for some reason why that something hasn't been bots, single player, customization or any type of MM. The only thing they can say is 'totes have stuff coming soon, can't say when and can't say what...but totally believe us, even though we haven't done anything that has been needed in over 12 months, but we totally will deliver this time.'. They have been told, several times, but A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT THE GAME, the issues and what is needed. It falls on deaf ears and is met with 'oh we totes will do that someday'.

All-in-all I can't recommend this game to others. Dead game(check steam stats, don't take my word for it, see the pathetic player # yourself) add in no single player and no bots...that right there means NO PLAYING THE GAME(how da ♥♥♥ do the devs not understand this but keep saying 'we totally wish we could fix the playerbase count). No customization and no type of bracket/skill level difference to put the newbs with the newbs and leave the pros to their own kind.

If the devs actually fix the issues with this game and quit releasing something 'just to look nice'(2 new maps...that is it, but no bots, no single player, no customization, no ranking...not a dang thing to actually fix the game. A polished dead fish, is still a dead fish) then I will change this review, until then...I can't(and no one should, take that into account when reading the pro-reviews, notice how half of them mention it is dead...but they thumbs up...yeah...buy a dead game...) recommend a dead game to anybody, it is skeezy and sleezy to do.

Ignore the negative reviews for the moment. They are made by people with the most ridiculous rose-tinted glasses and hard-on's for Rome that there ever was. Now go ahead and read the negative reviews...it is people complaining 'this game isn't rome 2'(whinny nostalgia fans, who didn't even play Shogun 1 or Rome 1 when it was current) and 'Attila is too hard, I can't ez-mode a win in this, I also can't figure out how to use pikes and want to complain about calvary even though there is specific units to deal with them'.

Attila is amazing on its own. It has the best campaign since Shogun 2, with that it also has one of the hardest campaigns I have played in a total war if you play as vanilla WRE, amazingly difficult and a great challenge. The horde mechanic is new in Attila and the family tree works slightly better than it does in Rome 2. The horde mechanic works well and adds a whole new level of roleplay/style of play if you decide to be a murderous horde rampaging across the world burning everything in your path.

Attila is much 'darker' than previous war titles since it is set in a period when stuff mostly just got burned down. They nailed the 'dark' feeling and touch.

Attila isn't a nostalgia grab like Rome 2 was. Rome 2 is Rome 1...with slightly better graphics and a bit better mechanics than the first. Rome 2 is nothing impressive or new. Shogun 2 broke those barriers(and most agree Shogun 2 did it very well, an amazing TW and a high suggestion to buy if you don't own it) and Attila added to them.

As far as historic TW's go Attila should be in your top picks along with Shogun 2 and Empire/Napoleon.
