Early Access Review
Development on the game has ceased. KSP 1 is superior in every aspect. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS.

Disregard my current playtime on Steam, in this version, the Steam Alpha, and the Pre-Steam Alpha Early Bird edition, I easily have over 200+ hours.

From the initial trailer on youtube some months ago, I knew this was going to be a game I got hooked on. The memories of playing RCT and RCT2 flooded me, as well as the experiences playing Thrillville: Off the Rails, also created by Frontier. I bought the Early Bird as soon as I could, and played the game almost every day since it's first alpha release. The amount of freedom Planet Coaster allows, lets your creativity and imagination run wild. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the management aspects of coaster games, however PlanetCoaster is the first theme park simulation where I have thoroughly enjoyed playing the scenarios as much as I have creatig my own parks. The campaign is very similar in a way to RCT3, with three levels of objectives that can be completed per scenario. You gain a star per level of objectives complete, which help you unlock more scenarios as you level up.

It is a shame that the security guard hasn't been presented in the current game, however the staff currently included help make the park feel more alive. They act like real people: if they're dissapointed with their job, you can visually see they are not as productive. The crowds of peeps who ride your rides, and spend countless dollars on your stalls flow naturally, as they would do in real life. They do not intersect or clip through each other, and they are influenced by the way you present scenery around your queues, and your park.

The sandbox mode is where I enjoy the game the most however. As soon as I loaded up the beta, and we didnt even have a prebuilt entrance, it got me more hyped than I'd like to admit. It was a feature I never knew I needed from playing the Alphas, but man I sure love it. Buildings can be built entirely to the player's liking, from the simplest block-like structures, to intricate replicas of Wild-West Saloons, and colonial castles. The coaster creator is highly intuitive, and allows the player to perfect every section, evey rail of their coaster to absolute perfection: heatmpas of excitement, nausea and fear allow you to intricately change minor details in the smoothness of your design, so you can hit those perfect ratios that customers would pay tens of dollars to ride. The steam workshop integration also allows for players with less creativity than others, to download thousands of individual itens, that can be placed in any creative way, or be used to inspire the creative juices within.

For £30, this game is an absolute steal. I payed £50 for the Early Bird edition, and feel like I underpaid for such a fantastic product. Hat's off for Frontier, for creating the Roller Coaster World ;) we desired so much.
