This is a well polished, gorgeous game. Gameplay feels fantastic, with basebuilding feeling deep enough to make some really cool villages, and combat feels incredibly satisfying as you knock down trees and hit different creatures and enemies. Very good first impression and I think I found my new addiction.

As a new player who just started from the launch of the Free-to-Play model, I can honestly say I'm hooked. There game is FULL of different activities to do for all sorts of players, most of it being free. Because it can be a little overwhelming what you should do once you start, I would like to highlight what activities this game has to offer.

Open-World Exploring : There are 8 PVE planets you can travel to do all sorts of activities. They are unlocked one by one with the new free-to-play model, but are obtainable very quickly (This is to not overwhelm you from the very start). You could do some quests/story missions, bounties (side objectives that reward materials), Hunt down high valued targets for loot, search for hidden, Lost Sectors (mini dungeons), look for caches, and even join publics events in which all players on the map can join. There are players running around the same area and you can choose to play with them or alone. These planets are very fun to explore and you can earn planet exclusive materials to return to the different NPCs at each planet for rewards. All of these will give you gear and XP, allowing you to lvl up your Power Level.

Strikes : Strikes are similar to dungeons in other games. You go in as a team of 3 (or less) and go through the dungeon and see how the story unfolds. There are different levels of difficulty and each week there are new modifiers that change how you should approach the strikes (Such as taking heavy damage while in the air). With a higher power level you can increase the difficulty and have better chances for Exotic rewards. The gameplay is fast paced, and the bosses can be quite fun and challenging.

The Crucible : This is the PVP in the game and my favourite mode to play. There are a variety of modes to choose from, the most popular being Control (6v6 Domination). There are some modes that are always available (FFA, Control, 3v3 elimination) and there are some modes that change with every week which keeps the PVP feeling fresh. All the gear you get from the game can be used in The Crucible and the power level of your gear is balanced with higher or lower level players (Except for an event called the Iron Banner). You will be rewarded every game with Tokens to bring to the PVP NPC as well as new guns. If you really wanted, you could play this game EXCLUSIVELY pvp. Jump in with some friends and kick some ass.

Raids : I do not have any experience with Raids... but they are similar to Strikes in which you bring a group 6 players and fight challenging enemies, obtaining high level gear. You need to find the group yourself I believe as there is no Match-making for this mode. I wish I could say more but I have yet to try this. Hoping to do some raids in the near future.

Gambit : Gambit is a mix of PVP and PVE. You have two teams of 4 go up against each other in a race to kill the boss, the Prime Evil. You must run around and collect motes (up to a max of 15) to place into your teams bank. You need 100 motes to summon the Prime Evil. Depending how many motes you are depositing, you can also send an enemy to block the other times bank, forcing them to kill it first before being able to deposit. As the game progresses, You will be able to go through a teleporter that takes you to the enemies side (an identical map of the one your team is playing). You can kill the other team to make them lose the motes they are holding, and even heal their Prime Evil to slow down their progress. It's a very creative mode and once you understand it, it can be a lot of fun messing with the other team and racing against the clock.

Campaigns : You can also choose to play through the games 5 campaigns which are very story heavy. You can get them from Holliday in the shipyard (furthest east) on The Tower, the game's hub. As a free player, you are able to play through the games first 3 campaigns! Pretty awesome if you ask me. Each DLC comes with it's own story and campaign to play through. You can earn rewards playing this mode as well as exp.

What's fantastic about this game is there really isn't just one way to play. You are free to play the modes that YOU WANT to play. They all reward you with gear and EXP and even some of the most powerful weapons and armour in the game if your lucky, Exotics. I personally think they are all worth doing and a lot of fun. You will never run out of things to do, and each week you will receive weekly quests for each activity, which can reward you with high level gear (After you hit power level 900, which only took me a few days to do).

So do yourself a favour, dive into this awesome FREE game and try out each of the different modes, find which modes you like to do and have fun!

Writing this review as a NEW PLAYER, as most of the negative reviews I see this game being bombed with are mostly from old time players, who have legitimate concerns about the state of the end game, but I have been really enjoying the base game and previous DLCs, and my guess is that those players enjoyed the previous DLCs as well.

The gameplay is very closely related to Left 4 Dead but with Melee, as well as ranged weapons. The combat feels REALLY good and you feel every hit connect. You progress through levels fighting horde of Zombies, Ratmen and a lot of different Special enemies closely related to Boomers, Hunters and Smokers from L4D. The game does have an RPG feel to it, as there is a leveling system, perks as you level, and loot to boost your character's stats. You can make your character specialize in different areas such as a ranged character with crowd control, a melee character who can take down armored enemies easily, or a beefy character who can take a lot of hits with a shield, and ETC.

There are also 5 Characters in the game , with each character having 3 different sub classes that you can pick from, all with unique play styles. Having a good team comp can really help your team succeed and it's fun to work out different roles with your friends or even randoms online.

On lower difficulties, you will blast through the levels. But as you up the difficulty, you WILL need to dodge, block, push, and use the right weapons on different enemies to stay alive.

I can't speak for the ENDGAME DLC, but I have seen a lot of people not happy with it. My guess is that the developers will make some changes because of all the backlash and hopefully things will move in the right direction.

But if you are a new player who is concerned about the reviews, just know that this is a very fun game to play with friends or even randoms online and I will definitely want to play more of this, even after 9 hours in. Get the game if you think the gameplay looks interesting, I think you'll enjoy it as I have. Hope to fight along side you.

NOTE: If one player buys any of the DLC maps, they can invite their friends who don't have those maps to play. I believe they just won't recieve certain challenge rewards, and be able to do the Endgame content that comes with Winds of Magic, but it is really nice to have that option.

It's one of the few games where you can suddenly see a Squidward dab on a swole Winnie the Pooh, then turn into a Warthog from Halo and fly off into the distance.

10/10 Good game.

There's not many games where you can leap onto a giant troll's back, hang on for dear life while bashing him with the hilt of your two handed blade, meanwhile leaping off while he tries to backdrop onto you, before finally finishing him with a downward thrust from midair. All without cinematics.

Flawless combat.
