Game is designed as a pvp survival.
Thats not interesting to me however the theme and combat appealed to me so i played it solo.
I'd played before briefly so i know its usually a solid grind so I changed the settings for things like refine times and recipe costs etc, and did so fairly heavily.

With resources manageable for one player the game started to show how lacking it is in options;
-There are four sets of armour every other tier. each has a theme.
-There are 6 options for amulets, every other tier.
-You have a few weapon options but none stand out and bonuses are set for each weapon, until you reach late mid-game.
-Jewels are ok, but effects are pretty mediocre.
-There are 7 or 8 blood types but none are very strong unless you get a good 80+%.

All of this is a shame as the foundations of the game are pretty good;
-The graphics are nice, the right amount of edge and not too noisy.
-The combat system is decent and has solid feedback. Even the harvesting feels well suited.
-The audio is good the music is not intrusive and fits the scenic locales in the game.
-The building system is well designed, intuitive and has great assets already.
-The world building and flavour of the game are really good, though a little more story line or quests wouldn't hurt.

Overall I enjoyed the game but its not the game i would've wanted.

Top-tier Diablo2-like from some of the devs that made titan quest.

Has great character building options. A fantastic, gritty, dark story and feel. Great combat with a large variety of enemies and skills. Decent endgame content. Massive array of items and a solid crafting system.

10/10 Would drop another 900 hours if I didn't know all the content so well.

Given that I can't even get the required paradox launcher to install, imma have to give this a negative review.

(Installer {through steam} refuses to initialize. Close the process down in task manager, it launches again goes through the installer to the point where it begins installing, stops and complains about another install going on that doesnt exist.
Downloading the launcher separately it gets through to the point of installing and just sits, for hours.)

0/10 - Guessing the dev's moved on and dropped the game entirely.

Fairly typical Serious Sam game.
Certain area's are pretty tough, with too many of the wrong units to make it viable to survive without consumables and/or save-scumming, but that's part of the game.
Legion system is decent, I had only a little lag even with hundreds of units on screen toward the endgame.
Some of the maps (France) were too big with little or no direction toward potential side quests & secrets.

Overall an enjoyable experience. 7/10

+Pretty good 2d minecraftesque with extra bosses.
+Combat is not really to my taste but works effectively enough.
+Not had any crashing issues ever.
+Solid multiplayer format

-Progression can be tricky unless you know what is coming next.
-DEI creep

I cant recommend this at this price point (get it on sale if at all).
While it has what looks to be an interesting story, I wasn't patient enough to follow it, mostly due to the twitchy reflexive combat.
The combat itself is okay, but not brilliant. As said above it is twitchy and requires good reaction time, due to the way enemies are designed and placed within the levels. This runs counter to the rest of the game which is a sluggish walking simulator.
The game does do a good job of keeping you low on ammo, forcing you to melee or throw furniture when available to conserve bullets. Level design is mostly linear, there are few places that actually branch significantly as most branches you would've had to go to anyway to pick up a key or similar.
Game is both a little short and drags on too long. At approx 4 hrs for a fairly thorough play through, I ended the game thinking I wish there was more to it, but also bored of the repetitive game-play cycle.

Not the worst way I've wasted four hours, but far from the best. 5/10

Cant recommend this at asking price. Game is decent but was never outstanding.

Story wise it felt very thin, i didn't really connect with any of the characters, and by extension none of the 'weighty' choices had any weight behind them. I found myself pushing the main story to get to the end which was pretty meh. The gun play is average. weapon variation is mediocre. Monster variation is lacklustre.

7/10 Might play the expansion

AOE 2 is a fantastic RTS, the fact that it has survived so long is testament to its greatness.
The game is easy to learn but very hard to master.
It is very well balanced, has a vast amount of single-player content and a thriving multiplayer scene.

Buy the definitive edition instead. Its more up to date and better supported.
