My favourite game of all time.

One of the greatest lovecraftian horror stories, in which you learn of an alien outbreak with increasingly disturbing implications. What you think to be true is constantly put into question as you discover what these aliens really are. And you quickly realise that the fate of humanity is all but certain.

It tells a bleak yet emotional story that I just can't get enough of. And I enjoy it more on every new playthrough.

It is true that the combat and enemy design isn't all that impressive, but I personally play this for the storytelling. No other game has ever transported me, immersed me and sparked my curiosity like this one. That's in part thanks to the incredible soundtrack from Mick Gordon.

It's also an immersive sim, so you can go into different sections of the map and unlock things in whatever order you'd like. The choices you make on what door you open, who you kill, what you loot, directly impact the quest progression and story. Given that fact, it's no surprise that after 4 times finishing the game I'm still finding new ways to play through the story.

I truly believe this game is incredible and more people should experience it. The team at Arkane made something really special, and we should cherish it.

If you are to play this game, don't look too much into it and let yourself be mystified.
