IMHO, this here is possibly the best game in the Half Life series. It's frantic, hectic and long enough as to not overstay its welcome. Pick it up if you enjoyed the original game.

I'm not the biggest fan of Rouge-likes, especially ones that borrow from the classics because they tend to feel very archaic. However, I've been enjoying this game a lot! It's one of the few games where I feel like I am exploring a new and alien culture. It's like a 70's sci-fi novel, but interactive. Pick it up if you get the chance!

It's good... buy it.

(Note: I re-bought this game on Steam, my actual time in this game is somewhere around 200 to 300 hours on the Xbox One Version).

Dark Souls 2 is the black sheep of the Souls series, usually placing last or second to last on many people's list of favorite Souls games. Oddly enough though, as a guy who has been playing the Souls games since Demon's Souls on the ps3, Dark Souls 2 has been the only one in the series that I have come back to for consistant replays. This maybe due to the fact that this game has the best PVP in the series hands down, with the most enjoyable NG+ (also, unlike the original Dark Souls, it has a second half that isn't complete ♥♥♥♥ and is actually worth the trouble of going through to see the ending).

It's mostly down to personal preference whether you'll like this game or not, though. I personally think it's sprawling but overall linear approach (which is very Demon's Souls-eques, minus the arch-stones) isn't as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. Oddly enough though, Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne are smaller and (at least for me) feel a lot more linear (especially in comparison to Dark Souls 1) yet don't recieve nearly as much flack.

That's not to say there aren't problems in Dark Souls 2. The fact that they brought back the "Nexus"-styled hub-world of Demon's Souls which is the only place you can upgrade in is a step down from Dark Souls 1 (this is also a problem Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 as well). There is also the problem of despawning enemies, which can make the game both easier and harder at the same time and cause balancing issues. The bosses are mostly "dude's in armor" and follow the same "lern d attac pattrn 2 win" which has become the norm for the series rather than the more original and intresting (although by no means perfect) boss fights in Demon's Souls (then again, the "Looking Glass Knight" was rather original, as he spawns PVP players through his shield).

People also bring up the E3 trailer from 2013, and get pissy because the graphics got downgraded. Yes, that does suck and there isn't much of an excuse, yet it's not like they were straight up flaunting cut content as well as better than in-game graphics like they did with Bloodborne's early trailers (Ebrietas in Cathedral Ward, cut arcane stuff, these graphics http://cdn1.gamepur.com/images/feature/bloodborne-review-screenshot-1.jpg ). While most of the DS2's E3 trailer did have better graphics than the final release, at least most of what was show was in the final game. It's not like it was Halo 2's 2003 E3 demo where they advertised a straight up different game.

TL;DR Dark Souls 2 is a flawed game that gets a lot of ♥♥♥♥ even though it improves on a lot of things that Dark Souls did (it even has a worth-while second half that isn't complete garbage). It also recieves ♥♥♥♥ for things that Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 are still doing yet don't get ♥♥♥♥ for (mostly because they aren't Dark Souls 2).

So, if you are new to the Souls series or if you were put off intially by fans bandwagoning on the hate train because "Dirk Sulz 2 sux lol", I recomned picking this version up and giving it a try (or a second chance) as it comes with the base game as well as all the DLC for a decent price.

An intresting "proof-of-concept" game that, while not perfect, was very intresting.

I wish the game was a lot harder, and I wish the game actually got that update we were promised, but overall I like the game. I especially liked that post-modern new game plus mode that pulled kinda pulled an MGS2 on our asses and shattered the fourth wall a bit, going into the complexities of nostalgia and gaming (and gamers) as a whole.

Not perfect, but if you like Sega Saturn/Ps1 games, I recomned you support this game so we can see more refined games in a vain similar to this.

I gotta give it them, this was a fantastic Horror/Drama game. The basic plot at the start might not sound too intresting, but let me tell ya', this game's story is more than what it seems. After completeing it, I was left speechless.

So far, this game is a great way to kick off 2017.

Highly recommended for people who like Silent Hill 2, The Cat Lady or period pieces with some intresting stylization.

As a fan of the late Kenji Eno (R.I.P) and the now defunct WARP Studios games, I was really happy to see that D (WARP's first game to be released outside of Japan) is now easily accessible on Steam.

D was originally made for the short lived 3DO in 1995 and was ported to the Sega Staurn, PS1, and MS DOS (which is this version). The gameplay is akin to 1993's Myst, with the entire game being an fmv. Yet, unlike Myst, everything is fully animated. So if you want to get somewhere, you are going to have to walk there using a pre-set path. It's kinda slow, but it really helps build the atmosphere.

This game mostly deals with walking around the creepy mansion and solving puzzles. Some of these puzzles may seem a bit tricky at first, but you'll never reach the point of having to look up a walkthrough. *HINT: Make sure you check all your surroundings before giving up!*

Thing's ain't all fine and dandy though, as you need to beat the game within two real time hours. There is no saving as well, so you will need to play this game through in one sitting. That might be a deal breaker to some, but for me personally it helps build a tense mood to add on to the spooky atmosphere.

If I had any problems, it would be that the game (or just this Dos Box packaged in with the game) has an odd problem where all the fmvs (the entire game) has these odd and dark crt tv-esque scan lines on them. If anyone knows how to get rid of them (or just make it look less bad) please tell me.

If you like old horror games, or are just looking for something a bit more experimental, I highly recommend WARP's "D". Buying this game will hopefully help Nightdive Studios release other WARP games like "Enemy Zero" and "D-2" on Pc, along with other games from different developers. So show some support!
