Although the overall quality is undeniable, I can't say it's a true successor to Portal for a few nitpick-y reasons. However, very much still worth your time.

Before playing this, I didn't think it was possible to make a game that was both so engaging and so boring at the same time.

There is nothing I can say about Bejeweled 2 that hasn't been said already. It's one of PopCap's all-time greats, an endlessly replayable Match 3 that isn't after your cash at every waking moment. And even as it fell out of compatibility with the mobile platforms it was the most popular on, I consider it an absolute blessing that it received a PC release that has ultimately allowed it to survive up to today. It's an ultimate time-waster, but one that almost never leaves you feeling like you didn't achieve anything. Yet, if you also need a game to bore you juuuuuuuuust enough to get to sleep, this game also has your back, with an amazing soundtrack that is enjoyable enough to never truly get old, but also (by intention) too boring to be classified as a "banger". It's incredibly rare that a game of this nature can nail this gray area, and yet here Bejeweled 2 stands, able to fulfill both roles masterfully.

Don't play this game if you're looking for anything beyond a time-waster or aren't actively seeking the novelty of what a Match 3 used to be before microtransactions. But I cannot recommend it enough to at least be a part of your library, for whenever you might find yourself wanting it.

My Singing Monsters is one of the old guard. It was there in the earlier age of mobile gaming, right as microtransactions had begun to take off; and, unsurprisingly, it has opted to retain this free-to-play structure as it made its way over to PC. For all intents and purposes, you're best off considering this game to be an emulation of the mobile version, because there is no distinct advantage to playing it this way.

Do not be fooled; My Singing Monsters is 100% a game that prefers you pay in order to get ahead faster, and getting to the endgame will likely require a few years of your time. However, this is undoubtedly one of the reasons why it's aged rather well when compared to other early mobile games that have absolutely lost the plot (I'm looking at you, Megapolis - what the hell happened?). My Singing Monsters, alongside the other games of a similar nature and age like Clash of Clans, clearly has something that sets it apart, beyond the nostalgia factor. Do I claim to know what this is? No. I definitely do not have enough playtime to tell you what that is. Neither on here or on my phone. But I can still recommend you at least give it a shot if you are at least somewhat into collection simulators. Because this game will 100% be one of the most unique ones you ever play.

I'm an absolute wuss and I'm somehow afraid of basically every hostile slime in the game - but even through that, the experience is like none other, and I 100% recommend it for everyone, especially those braver than me - aka 96% of the world population

This DLC is wonderful, and has my full recommendation. Some new characters, some returning, and just enough creepy detail to fit the Pandoran aesthetic.

Except I am about 90% sure installing this DLC made BL2 inherit a problem seen in BL:TPS, where an occasional memory leak causes a really, really inconvenient crash.

Whatever. The ends definitely justify the means here.

Build a ♥♥♥♥ ton of Artemis battlestars and put them all in a line bunched together. Max their ATK formation. Then snipe ships for ♥♥♥♥ off damage from long range and win every battle.

10/10 would destroy the economy of the Twelve Colonies again

A truly amazing experience.. if it wasn't horrendously outdated. It has the quality of a cheap Console port to PC, but when it plays, by god does it play well. I love playing this game, and if your computer can run it properly, give it a shot when it's on sake or something.

I'm honestly too scared to go past the Kelp Forest.
Then again, I'm still scared of Minecraft Spiders, so that's not saying much.
