Fun game, but why the hell would you put the quit to desktop button as "quit" after you die in a run?!?

Early Access Review
Overview:
Very much an early access game.

Pros:
  • Fluid gameplay, providing lots of fun.
  • Outstanding music by Aeltherion, who has done a fantastic job.
  • Good level design with room for improvement. Reminds me heavily of Core Keeper
  • Easy to understand mechanics.
  • Simple and accessible progression system.
  • Enjoyable humour throughout.
  • The combat system is straightforward and easy to get used to.
  • Unique method of exiting a level, offering a refreshing take.
  • The graphics and feel of the game is very good, Reminds me heavily of Core Keeper

Cons:
[Note: Many of these drawbacks are expected in an early access game.]

  • Proficient players may complete the current content (as of 24/11/2023) in around 4+ hours.
  • Lack of difficulty; dying poses more of a challenge.
  • The progression system is simple, short, and lacks options.
  • The primary grind involves finding chests and keys for drop-only items, which can be monotonous due to the current RNG-based system.
  • The quest system is overly simplistic, and some quests may be impossible to complete due to inaccessible items at the time.

Overall:
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game, extending my playtime by a couple of hours to explore and test various functions. However, I completed the available content in 4-5 hours, and with better knowledge, it could have been half that.

Excitement builds for the game's future; the lead developer is notably responsive and engaged on Discord, actively seeking feedback and posing questions (Good joke, Mike).

I have high hopes for the game's development and plan to revisit in a few months, if not sooner.

Great game with a lot of good content.

The balancing between the characters is odd/weird and doesn't really work for a few of them.

Gets very samey pretty quickly.

The fact that you can't insta re-start a run is a bad QoL feature that should be a basic feature.

Overall, worth about 5*the price of £4

So. This game is fun, but...

It is VERY badly optimised and when I clicked "auto suggest" it lowered the fps I was getting and also made the game look like absolute trash.

I'd wait to buy this game for another year or two, or if you do then you'll most likely get a solid 30-60 hours out of it, but enjoy issues.

It should have remained a thing of the past.

Worth while game to get!

The end boss is incredibly tedious and isn't designed very well unfortunately, especially with the DLC.

Great game, for the price.

Lots of hours can be spent playing it, if you like a more interactive game then Vampire Survivors, you may enjoy this even with its stripped down game play and upgrade system.

It's coded alright, but, doesn't manage high intensity of entities very well and EASILY crashes.

Fun game, but think there is a hard limit of 4-5 hours of content in this...if you push it hard and die a lot.

If you want to taste the style of game they're bringing out with 20 minutes till dawn, then this would be a good start.

It does concern me that they may charge too much for their "full" game which won't actually have that much more content.

Very fun game.

But, obvious baits into screwing you over to try and get you to have to replay, not for any good reason either... "Oh we suggest you do this to get good items..." then proceed to complete it, get nothing and fairly impossible to get back the healing you lost or cash.

Not sure how much replayability this game has, but we'll see...onto the final boss currently, lost a lot of my stuff due to weird/bad mechanics.

Fantastic queue simulator. If you're wanting to experience what its like to be British and queue in an orderly line, this is the game for you.

Or, if you want one of the best modern MMO experiences that actually has social experiences, then this is the game for you.
