This game offers one of the best total war platforms for modding because you can mod almost every aspect of the game, including the campaign map. My favorite mod of this game is Fourh Age: Total War, a Tolkien based mod. I cannot post a link here, but the mod is easily found with a google search. This mod makes this old game worth the purchase price.

This game is an honest effort to bring to new life two of the best titles I have had the pleasure to play. The developer had to leave the project uncompleted, but a devoted modding community has done it's best to bridge the gap to perfection. Give this game a try, and to not be too proud to make use of the mods that have been developed to finish the polish on this gem.
