I'm really disappointed. This remake really pisses me off, it's the first time I've ever preordered something, and now I remember why preordering is such a bad idea.
I love the original XIII game from Ubisoft, so much so that I bought it both on Gamecube, PC (from GoG) and on steam, since it came on a bundle with the preorder of this game. It got me into the franchise and made me start reading the comics which are overall really good.
"XIII 2020 is just XIII with "better" graphics" that's the first thing I thought when I booted it up, and to be honest that's kind of what I was expecting since I saw the first gameplay reveal, but to begin with, it is not.
The story is pretty much the same as in the original game, (It even has the nerve of showing the original's game intro, which has an entirely different art style, as an scene where an FBI guy puts on a reel and plays it, also having constant unnecesary changes on camera angles.)
For starters, the first thing you'll notice is that the in game graphics are not cell-shaded like the original XIII, or games like Borderlands, Killer 7, and so on. Instead, it has this cartoonish style more like Fortnite and to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the change but also I don't mind it that much, it's just soulless and mediocre, although I'll say that there are a few scenaries that look really good, which unfortunately are very scarce, in other words, the game's visual quality is all over the place, with some models looking really ugly (Col. Amos for instance)
From the technical standpoint, it's a cluster♥♥♥♥, the first bad sign I had when I first launched it was that my native resolution (1440x900) wasn't natively supported, so I had to go into the registry edit and ♥♥♥♥ around with the settings until I got it to work. Then, inmediately I noticed that the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mouse sensitivity is just a mess, the normal sensitivity was too high so I naturally lowered it, just to notice that when you aim your weapon the sensitivity gets lowered dramatically, hell I'd bet that it was maybe a quarter of the "normal" sensitivity, so I had to go back into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Cocacola overdose setting.
Then there's the gameplay changes, yes, there are, and they're not good at all. It's the classic "What if we take this game from the late 90's-early 2000's and make it now with modern games' mechanics?". So we have mechanics like sprinting, aiming down sights, only carrying one of each class of weapons at a time.
Now I'd assume that this later change was to "balance" the game, if that makes sense, since with ADS the game's easy, way too easy, every weapon is a lethal 1-shot kill on the head (Duh) and if you have a decent accuracy (because good accuracy is impossible with the sensitivity ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) you'll need nothing more than a fast firing weapon, and this makes ammo quite plentiful, making the ammo management from the first game take a trip to Uganda only to get lost in da way.
The checkpoint system is the same as in the original game, THE THING THAT WOULD'VE MADE THE MOST SENSE TO CHANGE ENTIRELY, so it suffers the same flaws derivate from it as the Ubisoft game did.
The AI is just horrible they try to put them as "Look how clever they are, if they spot a body they'll enter a high alert mode and will look out for you", this mechanic ironically triggers itself quite often when the enemies execute other npcs during a scripted cutscene only to inmediately react to the corpse right after it's done.
Also one change they made is that they'll stop all form of engagement once you're out of their field of view and will go back to this "alert mode" (which is them just standing around usually giving you their backs just to get shot in the head). I can see why this change was made, since one of the complaints about the original XIII was that once one enemy, just one, spots you, all the enemies in the area automatically know where you are, and that implies that you cannot disengage and go back to hiding once your cover is blown, however, this sure wasn't a "fix" for that problem, it just created a much major one.
It's filled with bugs that I found just by normal gameplay, some sequence breaking bugs that I accidentaly tirggered.
I could go on, and on, and I'll do it eventually, but not here, i guess I'll do a youtube video ranting and eventually getting wasted, because, jesus, this game is awful.
It is a slap to the face for both people who like the original game and newcomers alike.
I regret preordering this and not just sticking to the original. Buy that instead is way cheaper and much more fun, also it runs in pretty much anything.
Edit after finishing it:
The bossfights are a complete joke (I played on XIII difficulty which is supposed to be the hardest), they introduced this stupid mechanic that after dealing X ammount of damage in a short period of time, the guy gets idiotized and stays still in place for like 5 to 10 seconds, enough to keep doing damage to him only to trigger this mechanic again, which ends in bossfights that only last a couple of seconds, THEY ARE EASIER TO KILL THAN STANDARD ENEMIES.
The last parts of the game are really easy to break, I've had to restart the last mission multiple times due to bodies getting stuck in places where they could be spotted, knocking out enemies to only get clipped through the roof and get stuck
Many cutscenes are broken and even if they weren't they are just bad, there isn't that sense of build up and tension that the original game had, making every twist in the story exciting and hooking.
PS: This game overheated my PSU and killed it, not kidding.

XIII is one of a kind. A game that I deeply love and have fond memories of.
Whenever I have a excuse to play it I play through the entire campaign, I just love it.
It is a First Person Shooter with cell shaded (Comic style, like borderlands) graphics, that really made it age up pretty decently. It's based on a belgium comic of the same name and roughly covers up the events of the first 5 volumes, ending on a cliffhanger that hopefully will be continued after the remake releases. It has a few gameplay elements that made it stand out for me, like using grappling hooks to get to a certain vantage point, taking npcs as hostages to avoid other enemies from shooting you, boss battles, etc. The AI is okay for it's era, most of the times is really aggresive, especially when it has fully automatic weapons like M16s or SMGs and will push the player mostly when reloading, also in harder difficulties headshots are a must to efficiently dispose of foes without taking too much damage.
I'd say that the console version (I played the Gamecube one years ago) is easier even on the hardest difficulty because it has an aim assist that locks onto the enemy's head. You can play it in pretty much every modern PC after just downloading it and get widescreen with just a few tweaks in the .ini file.
Although there are non-official patches that allow you to play online multiplayer (because the official Ubisoft servers died way back in 2008) as well as tweaking a little bit the visuals, not too noticeable though.
If you could get a gamecube with the game and 4 controllers you would experience a great multiplayer game, even on PC you can play with bots, but obviously that's not as fun. I mentioned earlier that you can get online again with patches but in my region the only servers that I get are empty and with 300+ms of ping, which is pretty much unplayable, which is a shame because it has some pretty solid multiplayer gamemodes like Capture the Flag and on mode in which you shoot a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ grim reaper, yeah, that was a really fun one.
If you have never played or even heard of XIII, give it a chance, especially now that it's getting a remake.

Neat little game that gives me Super C vibes.
The soundtrack is good with a few tracks that stand out to me.
Gameplay is pretty much Contra-like with a weapon system a little bit like Megaman in the way of how every weapon shares the same ammo which is collected from killing enemies.
Overall a pretty fun game for a cheap.

Early Access Review
Airmech was ONCE an awesome game with a great community, then they decided to split all the good parts of Airmech into an $10 game, making this a crippled game, the PVP sucks, since there's not that many players any more (From thousands of players the number got massively reduced to about two hundred) so there's long queue times, specially for me since I live outside the US, the match balance is uneven, I, a player who has like 60 hours often get matched with a teammate who barely has 10, against players who've played this non-stop and know pretty much all the (to me new) unit stats. Of course I stopped playing this for quite some time and now that I came back to it, I got really disssapointed with the directions the development team took.
In old AirMech you had the option of customizing your airmech with different types of parts (Weapons, armor, etc) so you could play the way you wanted. Later that feature got changed, most of the items that I worked hard to get,(like gundamum alloy armor, which was a great armor) got locked for me, so I had to rank up my mech to an exaggerated high level to use it, and now this feature of mech parts got completely removed, as well as the option to choose a pilot with unique stats, and I must say that players who lost invested money and many hours of gameplay with this removed features don't get anything as a repay, they just give you the middle finger.

Early Access Review
This is a EARLY ACCESS REVIEW, i'll do a review on the full product when it gets avaliable.
How to start?
Fir newbies, Killing Floor is a zombie co-op game, you're probably related to Call of Duty zombies, right? almost everyone knows zombie mode on CoD, Killing Floor is something like that but a lot better, it has perks which gives you some advantage on certain weapons, it has an amazing soundtrack with over 30+ songs of Heavy Metal, kick ass, right?, it has a beautiful gore system, with that you can dismember almost every part of the ''Zeds'' bodies, has decent graphics for this gen, so if you have a graphics card supperior to a Nvidia 510 you'll be OK.
So, with that im gonna list here the Pros and Cons
Pros:
-Amazing Soundtrack
-Gore!!
-Good Graphics
-Really fun to play with friends
-Really challenging, and a difference with the original is that the zeds doesn't need to be bullet sponges to be hard to kill
-The details in the weapons are just beautiful to watch, animated in 60FPS
-(Almost) Fully customizable way of playing with perks and character
Cons:
-64 Bits OS ONLY, so 32-bit users, you're not welcome here
-Intel Users gotta be supperior to the 4th gen of Chipsets, HD 2000-3000 users are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (Got HD 4400 and still having performance issues)
-If you played this can get boring when you've got your perks on high, so let's hope they add more levels
-Really low variety of weapons
-Perks are quite unbalanced
-Matchmaking tool joins servers with high ping
As you've seen most of this Cons are Fixable, since this is early access it's not really big deal (Except for the Intel issues)
so, let's hope that they fix most of this on future updates
