Got this game in the Humble Bundle, figured I could use a break from some other games. What a great experience. My first go at this game was a complete disaster. People freezing. People starving. People dying. Everyone hated me.

Second time around, it was completely different. I haven't explored every option but I am excited to try. Great game, definitely recommend.

Early Access Review
This game is great. Can't say it any more plainly. I started playing with some friends and it evolved into playing solo, playing with other strangers, joining a guild, fighting dragons, and getting hot hot loot.

It has it's blemishes but they are being worked on. Melee characters have some problems with feeling weak at the higher difficulty due to physical damage resistance on every enemy. Some classes elemental skills do not scale with elemental damage increases for some reason, but others do. All in all minor problem that, again, are getting addressed at a very frequent cadence.

The developer(s) are very active with the community. Frequently chatting about the game, how to improve, what the community would like to see, and how to make the game better. It is very obvious this is a labor of love and it really shows in how much care is put and the engagement given with the player base.

When I play it really takes me back to my years and years in early EverQuest, playing with friends and just hanging out in low stakes encounters. The sounds of the enemies in game compound that feeling.

The community is small but getting larger daily. A lot of really chill people just hanging out and slaying dragons. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to scratch that dungeon crawl itch with friends, strangers, or solo.

Started on a PvP server. No experience with the game. Spent days making a house, taming dinosaurs no matter what it was, just wanted a massive dino farm. Feeling pretty good about my situations, savoring victories over players in similar situation as me. Smash their bases, kill their dinos. I felt on top of world.

Have a solid stone base, a gun, and lots of neat tools. Feeling pretty confident. Shadows form below me. A massive dragon drops out of the sky, breathing lightning and death. All my dinosaurs roasted to death within minutes. I am shot unconscious. I can still see my base being destroyed all around me. Stone flying everywhere, item containers thrown everywhere, items picked up and dropped to ensure they disappear (I later found out). Utter destruction.

I was dragged deep into the forest. I was put into a cage, like an animal. I was force fed tranquilizers to stay unconscious. I was bled dry with a blood extraction kit, but never allowed to die. Fed potions only to heal enough to have blood drawn. Suspended in perpetual unlife/undeath I wallowed in a cage full of my own feces for who knows how long. I had lost everything now.

10/10 would recommend to everyone looking for a fun game to play.

Playing this game for roughly 1.5 hours now, and really I think the game is good considering the generation it's trying to capture. The nostalgic feeling of difficult games from the 1980s and 1990s, unforgiving and kind of grindy. This game takes more then a few hours of hitting the "Attack" button. It makes you consider your resources carefully.

Engaging in a battle, and just attacking while paying the minimum amount of attention will likely get you killed more often then not. It takes a little planning and some real thought on how to approach the groups of monsters. More then once have I delved into a cave full of monsters, earned a substantial amount of money, just to lose it all on resurrection costs and inn stays. Think about the fight and utilize your characters' abilities. For a while I was using Lionel primarily to First Aid allies that were getting crushed in battle. After a few levels, they easily best groups of enemies.

A lot of reviews make this game out to be bad and hard, and I just didn't think it was fair. By today's standards, yes it could be considered quite brutal at times, but that doesn't make it bad. It makes it challenging. The class system and morality system really make this something I could finish and immediately pick up again.\

Thanks for this game!
