One of the best exploration game I've played

The esasiest way to describe it would be ace combat on a budget but Project Wingman is a bit more than that, it really encapsulated what made AC enjoyable and gave it's best shot at the formula.
This results in a maybe flawed game but where you can feel the all the passion and efforts that have been puts through.

It's biggest flaws are to me, the mission objectives that could all be described as "kill everything" (no defense/infiltration or exotic mission) and maybe if you care the visual quality of ground models.
But those flaws are somewhat compensated by how the game is build :
Missions are maybe not that original but the dogfights are thriving and the different type of enemies keep things fresh so you don't mind that much.
Graphics are maybe not AC7 level but the level settings are made so that the game is still a joy to watch, I'll take sunsets and radiants color skies over a 4k generic level any day and in that the game delivers, most of the levels are a joy to discover for the first time with some good suprises.

Everything else hit the spot, the dialogs and characters are engaging all throughout the campaign (shoutout to Prez), the soundtrack that goes with each mission really gives an atmosphere that not many games offers, planes maneuverability is good (especially with some planes) and the add of the PSM is really a nice touch. Not much to say gameplay wise, you get what you came for and it's good.

It may not be a masterpiece but this passion project has nothing to be ashamed of compared to its direct inspirations, it has won its place between the aces.

Pros :
- Short games (10mins)
- Prey vs Predator feeling
- The shooting part feels smooth
- Easy to pick up
- The level design plays nicely on the sizes and on the risk/reward

Cons :
- Not a ton of people playing
- Slight performances issues
- A snowballing effect that gives sometimes the feeling you won't be able to win no matter what (thus a lot of people leaves mid-match :/ )

The perfect game you want to play if you have 1 hour to kill, 4 to 7 friends to play with or you just don't know what to to do and doesn't want to launch one of the 2142 games you still have unfinished in your steam account.
