As someone new to Castlevania-like games, I loved this one. There is so much variety and so much to do that my playthrough lasted a solid 24ish hours. I wasn't disappointed, and now I'm almost enticed to try some actual Castlevania titles.

Boss fights are incredibly fun.
Weapon variety is great.
Crafting system is a little weird, but was fun to tinker with. My only complaint is it's a little TOO grindy at times IMO.
Environmental design is great, as are enemies. Music too.
Graphics suffer in a few areas, mostly stuff like hair physics etc. But that's my only big complaint there.
I wish there were more customization options for appearance, but what's provided is still adequate.

Overall, amazing game. Not very many bad aspects to it, and it has a massive amount of replayability (not even factoring in DLC).

This game has a pretty poor reputation among Tales fans. Some of that is deserved! However, upon completeing it I can say it is also largely exaggerated. The combat feels great, and the characters are lovely. The camera sucks, but this is mostly in the first few hours in the game. Later on, it becomes much less of a problem. For as many mistakes the developers made, they made a lot of good choices, and I think the game ultimately meshses into a good result. Is it not as good as other Tales games? Probably, depends on your tastes to some degree. Overall, however, I think it was a very enjoyable experience, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Disclaimer: I did play Berseria first. I think that greatly enchanced my appreciation for the game. I would definitely recommend you play Berseria (which is absolutely amazing) before approaching this game. They are somewhat interconnected, and Berseria helps to fill the would-otherwise-be plot holes in Zestiria.

I played this remaster on PS4. Aside from the better FPS (which is greatly appreciated), I didn't notice any real differences aside from other graphical stuff. This is a good thing. The game plays and runs very well on PC. The game is just as amazing on PS1 (though I dislike how they treated the boulder levels in Crash 2), and I would totally recommend getting it. They added just enough new stuff to expand the game's playability in a healthy way, too.

Also, Future Tense is a great level, and if it's a solid example of Vicarious Visions' work we're in for a good time when the next Crash game drops.

Certainly... different. If you like games that go for really different things, you'll like this one.

This game truly is amazing. I just got into the BioShock series (played 1 first, then Infinite, will play 2 soon) and damn am I impressed. The storytelling in this game is just as strong as the original, if not better. The combat is actually tons of fun (which I can't say for 1). The environments are immersive to the point that I don't even really mind spending a lot of time roaming for collectibles (which do a great job at enhancing the storytelling) - there's just that much attention to detail.

If you're looking for a well-made, story-focused FPS that has lots of ways to play out fights, this game is for you. Get ready for a super emotional tale.

The Burial at Sea DLC is also just as good and a must-play if you buy the game.

I honestly can't recommend it enough.

First things first, this game tends to crash quite a bit. I haven't encountered any other glitches other than this. Though crashes tend to happen most often when saving, so if you play this game remember to save a lot so you don't lose too much progress when the inevitable crash happens.

Other than that, as a newcomer to the series I feel this game didn't age too poorly. The story was interesting, and the themes were interesting. Combat is my main nitpick. It feels somewhat clunky. Graphically speaking, it still manages to hold up to modern expectations.

Overall, I would recommend this game if you're willing to deal with the technical difficulties. It's worth it, I think.

I think the only bad thing I can say about this game is that a lot of the environments just seem pretty bland and the dungeon layouts can be irritating at times. I also wish that it looked nicer overall. Velvet could also use some better costume options :s

That aside, the game has a wonderful story and the entire group of characters are all lovable. The combat is somewhat deep and also quite fun. You can definitely tell that a lot of care and love was put into this game.

This was my first Tales of game and now I'm definitely going to be looking to play more! Easily my favorite game of all time.
