When i learned about a remake of Sid Meirer's Alpha Centauri, even thou seems like ages since the Classic. Back then mostly played as Morgan Industries or Spartan Federation while allied to Gaia's Step Duaghters or Univerity of Planet vs the Human Hive and others factions.

Thou when i bought Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth the intro was ok but could done better. Sid Meirer's Alpha Centauri had one massive ship as well showed face of every leader and apon desitination several pods luanched. Me think Beyond Earth shoulda showed a United Nations luanch site then several checkpoints with each leader before luanching of ships off planet earth. Then all ships flying to new destination and as show each leader looking out th window before pods or transports make landing.

Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth feels Sid Meier's Civilization V play only on alien world without barbarians. As for the world maps, with only three terrian types seems lacking and could used a water(water world with a floatable lily pad landing zones) terrian type, lava(Lava world with a floatable rock pad landing zones) terrian type, and a Rocky crystal(Rocky crystal world with a flat pad landing zones) terrian type.

User Control in Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth, coulda been more interactive. Like where is city style options, city start type, city colors, editing city names, selection of leader portaits and such. Everybody seems too into tech,alien frenzy,or economics here in this game. Game could used more then one alien faction too, friend,hostile,nuetral, like with all tech all others researching and using, and the planet aliens do what? Diplomacy coulda done more as like join up against aliens or form nature protection even if did a aption would appaear highlighted(on) tafter forming something other then alliance then may like send message to allies to attack here sort maybe. Bottom line it just feels like a differnt selection of factions n maps to play on differnt world clone of Sid Meier's Civilization V rather then Sid Meirer's Alpha Centauri. Anyway better then nothing and a close remake of Sid Meirer's Alpha Centauri, with rating near 7 out of 10 maybe. well maybe it time to get the bug juice anyway.
