Endless Fun
And that's not to mention... they're still updating this.

OpenTTD is like the grizzled veteran of gaming: it has seen it all. When newer, flashier games try to edge into the market, OpenTTD still stands. It has timeless appeal and is kept alive by the seemingly eternal community that fosters the growing mods, graphics, scenarios etc.

Do you enjoy logistics? Transport? Trains? Play OpenTTD.

A grind-fest where the only obstacles are irritants in the form of the mobs: they are your only form of obstacle and are relatively boring. There is no skill involved in removing the (respawning) mobs from your path: you simply have to wait for the appropriate tech level.

A paint-by-numbers for people who enjoy collecting things. If that sounds like you, this might be your next favourite game!

Just when I thought I was finally free... they pull me back in. Perkele.

P.S. Thanks for the update!

I'm doing my part!

I can't believe Sony would ruin a good game like this.

Update 6th May:

Sony walked back their suggested changes to force PC users to link to a PSN account. The reasons behind it at this time are still unclear but the push-back from Helldivers was likely the driving force.

Rock and Stone -- to the bone

A 4-player co-op game like no other. As one of four classes you enter, traverse and mine your way through hazardous procedurally generated caves filled to the brim with foreign flora and fauna.

  • Difficulty options for gamers of all skill levels / playstyles, as well as a handy robot buddy made especially for solo players for those of you without any friends -- though I will say that the game plays best as a group of 4, utilising the different classes to their full potential.

  • Each class is balanced with their own strengths and weaknesses against the "bugs", as well as a unique transversal gadget for getting across difficult terrains across the biomes of Hoxxes.

  • Classes have multiple guns to pick from and "overclocks" that can completely change the way a weapon functions.

  • Unlike other games COUGH HALO INFINITE COUGH, unlocks come at a decent (but not overwhelming) pace, along with fun customisation options -- find your favourite beard/mustache combo today!

  • Game has a laptop mode for those of you running on potatoes but the visual aesthetic of the glittering caverns shines on more powerful DX12-compatible setups, with the light and darkness being such a central part of the gameplay. I have had the fortune of playing both and it is no exaggeration to say I cried after my upgrade, the Glacial Caverns were especially stunning.

I can only hope more cave generation algorithms will eventually be added, as being a long-time player I've begun to recognise the same "types" of caves... though no two dives play quite the same. Now with mod support, I expect DRG to have a long life ahead of it.

Deep Rock Galactic is a masterpiece of game design.

Still an RPG gem after all these years. Nothing quite like hanging out with your friends and taking your main (plus pets and persuaded yokels) on a loot-hunting rampage.

Bliss.

If you're not a pathological hoarder or have a strong avoidance of grinding, this one might not be for you-- many of the fights play out the same way and chugging potions is often enough to cheese your way through. Despite this, it's still a fun romp of a game and I highly recommend you give it an hour or two to see it for yourself.

The best Total War game of all time, a must-have for all RTS lovers and TW fans alike, Shogun 2 is a jewel amongst games and a must-have in my opinion.
