The opening line in Mary's letter perfectly reflects the sentiments that the player base holds for this beloved game. In my restless dreams I see that town. Silent Hill.

- The entire team behind this game had an outstanding eye for detail. They held respect for the original, and most importantly a respect and deep awareness for the psychological and emotional impact of the incredible devastation/struggle we face as human beings in an often cruel world.

- The actors played the subtleties of their characters absolutely fantastically. From small and intentional vocal inflections to the tinier, but very crucial facial movements/expressions they made. They brought the writing together beautifully.

- Every level design was deeply thought out and intentional, from the props that were used, down to where they were purposefully placed. The aesthetics were absolutely stunning, I loved it. Amazing designers.

Although I feel as though some areas of the story, dialogue and level design could have been fleshed out a little more to be given more emotional impact, I actually like the remake more than the original. I'm just being incredibly knit-picky here, though. Overall the game was sensational through-and-through and anything it lacked is moot at best.

Frankly, I hope Konami decides to reboot the entirety of the early Silent Hill Series and elects Bloober as the team for the job; everyone involved just knew what they wanted, and knew exactly what they were doing. I could die happy playing A Bloober remake of 1, 3 and 4. The 4th installment was my favorite next to 2. I just relate to being trapped in a room with a metaphorical peephole and never being able to touch grass.

Edit: There was a HoLE here. It's gone now.

It's not like other XXX-rated games, and that's exactly why I like it. A bigger and better sequel would be hella awesome, with the same format, just with more to do!

Great pacing. Fun classes. Relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.

Baby's first horror game.
- No storytelling or explanation as to why things happen. Things just happen for no reason and you're expected to accept it. Maybe the writers/devs expect you to have played the previous games and be a lore expert at them, which is already lazy and poor story design.
- Levels look neat, but are ultimately too large with very pointless, empty areas. Therefore, no oppressing or stressful atmosphere, and you'll rarely, if ever be caught by animatronics. I haven't found them to be a threat. There's really nothing to explore or interact with either, so a lot of the rooms they created you'll never have any reason to go in.
- The animatronics are way too sentient and humanlike to be scary at all. The entire point that makes a human-behaving robot scary is the fact that it can only attempt to mimic a human; uncanny valley stuff. The designs are far too kid-friendly as well, if you compare the originals to now, there's not a threatening or scary fiberglass bone in their body.

Ultimately an attempted Hello Neighbor carbon copy that's completely betrayed its brand and theme. The hype and the price are far too high for what this game actually has to offer.

Refunded.

Whilst I still recommend this game despite the recent terrible patch, it's not ok for Devs to release content that's not ready to be released.
Hopefully they learned from their recent decisions.

I think I bought the base game when it was on some super sale around 8-15 bucks. I realized how empty and lackluster the game was so I went to see if it had any good DLC to fix it. When I looked at that time it was like $180, and that's when I decided nope, ain't ever gonna touch this again.

For fun today I saw it in my library and decided to have a look see because I realized this game was from Paradox, and they've been getting blown up for their crazy DLC heists.

Apparently the game is $222 now and the reviews went from mostly positive to mostly negative.

Whelp, can't get any good reviews if no one can play your game, eh? And no one can play your game if they can't afford it.

The base game is crap -and- expensive. Don't even buy it when it's on super sale. Just skip right on to the next part of your queue.

Early Access Review
It took awhile for the developers to take off with their plan on account of having to gain a player base + learning what they're doing like any alpha game, but now that they have it's become amazing. This game is easily in my top 10 of games I've ever played.

- They're very community intune, they take their player base into heavy consideration when they're developing new ideas.
- They have made their game to use and be compatible with Steam Workshop so that we can customize our world even more to our liking.
- They're very dedicated to the development of their game and havn't given up like many other zombie survival games have, even after all these years. That being said, the game is always improving and always updating.
