TL;DR: Best free and open source recording and livestreaming software that is available, out of the box features include everything one needs, and plugins add even more advanced capabilities, all while using an incredibly tiny amount of system resources for the things possible through the project, which can also be offloaded to another PC. 10/10
For starting out with the program, I can highly recommend:

- The official Discord server[discord.com] - generally always a good idea to join this one, lots of insightful things are shared on here, update announcements/logs as well

- Xaymar's high quality recording and streaming settings guides[www.xaymar.com]

- EposVox' and Nutty's YouTube guides and tutorials

- The "StreamFX" plugin[github.com] for a few more recording options, and also on the creative side, e.g. effects, filters, sources, transitions and encoders, 3D transform, blur, complex masking, even custom shaders

- The "win-capture-audio" plugin[github.com] if one wants to record audio sources separated into tracks each respectively, also called multitrack recording
Good for e.g. to exclude certain audio sources such as music from one's livestream, or to have more creative freedom on the audio side later on while editing
Heads up, this plugin is still more of a work in progress, things will be inconsistent/it's still not working reliably enough, at least in my case, especially when the audio driver used in one's setup restarts or crashes, e.g. when toggling loudness equalization on or off via Realtek's audio drivers, so watch out for that and other issues, just thought that I'd mention it here since for others with different setups it seems to work extremely well
If anyone working on the OBS Studio project is reading this:
Please add the option to record an infinite, or at least ridiculously high amount of audio tracks, e.g. 100 tracks
6 is already pushing it with how I have my audio set up in my case, please give us MOAR :D
(For anyone wondering, my audio track setup is the following:
1 = what gets output during livestreams, track #2 and so on are used for recordings
2 = what I want to use for music, so I can exclude it from VODs on Twitch, but can't, due to lack of tracks available, as it's limited to 6 by OBS Studio itself only providing that amount of tracks, so I use it as the track that has the "Global Audio Device" named "Desktop Audio", which is my entire system sound, as a backup just in case win-capture-audio plugin crashes somehow, and to fix/time-sync the tiny audio delay caused by the win-capture-audio plugin on all the audio sources' tracks I added through that plugin
3 = "everything else", the win-capture-audio plugin audio source for everything that is not included in the next tracks listed here from track #4 on
4 = the "Global Audio Device" that is my microphone, completely unprocessed
5 = voice chat e.g. Discord, TeamSpeak etc. (would be neat if this could be separated into each user in the voice chat as well)
6 = last but not least, music, in case there is a funny timing moment or the music really fits etc.)
