Alrighty, so here is my opinion.
The Game is frankly, in its current state. A bit boring.
It's not really clear on how to start off. Trading is rough, and you can get into fights against enemies way above your weight class, and mining is extremely time consuming.

However, that doesn't mean I would recommend against getting this game. You can grow into massive fleets, RTS style. You can custom build your own ships, and you are given a ton of freedom with it as well. It has multiplayer aspects and singleplayer aspects. You can build your own faction, get new weapons, and keep upgrading your ships. You can spend hours just redesigning your ship trying to get one that you like the most, and unlocking new technology that you can use to further the ships even more. If that sounds good to you, go ahead and get it!

For the dev, if you are reading this. Here are some recommendations you can use if you want.

I recommend adding quests you can get from each station, of various difficulties. That way you can give people who are just starting a bit more guidance. There is already an attempt at this, but they are normally quite high in difficulty or are trading tasks that require you to find a station that sells that particular item, with no way of knowing where that item may be.

I also recommend adding some more random events, say if you travel to another system you could end up finding two factions engaging in war. Joining one and assisting them could lead to benefits if they won. Or running into a few eldritch beings or giant living alien ships.

Maybe a few wormholes you can travel through to end up somewhere random in the galaxy.

In game note taking, that players can loot from each others ships.

I'm a bit tired so I'm ending here. I'll change more of this review as updates go on.

Pretty Good Game, especially with Friends. Currently I'm awaiting a large update before I really get into it. If I remember correctly they were upgrading the game to a new engine or something along that manner. The new devs are trying their best, and things are looking up. I recommend making premade groups before trying this out.

There is a new update that really, REALLY shouldn't have happened.

Creation Club, on its own was fine, it wasn't a big problem. The new update however? combined Creation Club mods and free mods into one area. Which is not a good thing. With there already being a Creation Club, why did it need to be combined, just to break everyone mod lists? All in all, despite being an alright game, they are attempting to go back and milk more out of it despite it previously being at a good state. If the change is reverted I'll change the review, if its not. I'm keeping this negative.

Review Update!

I'll give it to your straight. The game itself has a pretty normal gameplay loop, It's a Asymmetrical 1v4 game. One being the Killer and Four being the survivor. Each side plays differently, in a sort of Tom and Jerry -esk game. When you play killer you are basically Tom, the cat from the cartoons. You are actually stronger than Jerry most of the time, but the Jerry's have a lot to defend themselves by stubbing your hands with mouse traps, bonking you on the head with a pallet, suddenly blinking away leaving a flash of dust. Playing as Tom basically means you are playing a time management game, while learning how to isolate and chase the Jerry's without them messing you up. The more you know about what the Jerry's will do, the better you will do in chasing them. If you learned enough, you may even catch a Jerry.

Now then, on the other side, the Survivor, or in this case. Jerry! As Jerry you are stronger the more Jerry's you have around. If you have three other Jerry's and you are communicating and working together? You will either really bully the Tom, or accidentally screw up the other Jerry's moves. You have a plethora of tools to deal with Jerry, you have windows,[mouseholes] to escape, pallets[Mallets] to defend yourself with, and lockers to hide in or confuse the killer with. You also receive four perk slots and a item that will massively change how you impact the game.

Knowledge is power, see you in the fog.

Originally? I didn't expect much of this game. It was basically a knock off PA Titans to me. However recently a person from one of my discord communities suggested we try it, so we did. We fought a Horde and did a COOP, and we had fun. Tons of fun. The games are long, but you can have massive battles on top of many possible strategies and there are several commands that slowly increase your abilities. As long as you try you can have an amazing game, and even if you are losing, if you can figure out a counter strategy you can completely change the field of the game.

Early Access Review
Originally this game was great, it had a fun deceptive element to it and you could play with a small group of friends and simply enjoy it. But after the update that increased the required number of players the player count dropped immensely and a lot of people simply stopped enjoying the game. While the update was a novel and fun concept, it didn't really help the game at all, nearly killing off the player count. If the game was reverted to the pre-1.5.0 update the Player Count might actually get back to it's previous state. As it is now it has changed from a deception game with fun elements to a interesting game with a novel concept but not a good execution.

It feels like at first the 1.5.0 update was praised, but it most definitely heavily impacted the player count and replay ability of the game. You can see this via the reviews now. I do say it is a good game for a one and done currently as it is now. But if it was reverted back to it's pre-1.5.0 update it would be amazing. I still say you should at least try it out if you get the players for it.

So, I've played for a few hours now. This game can get addicting once you know what you are doing, it was really confusing for me at first, but overtime I started to get the gist of it.

It's not the best game you can get, but it's the only Space Empire game I've found that I've actually found interest in.

For most players who like slow long games that allow you to slowly upgrade a small race into a intergalactic empire this will be a good game for you.

For others who like actions and danger... basically all the time? You won't like this that much, you can tell when you are going to lose and you will likely be confused with the diplomacy of the game. Which is easy to under stand.

I do recommend this game though, I've enjoyed it thus far and I am still playing.

I love this game, I play this still occasionally and really love it.
Although on first glance the gameplay seems a bit limited and you just mess with random stuff you eventually find the holy land known as Garry's Mod Steam Workshop. Filled with tons of things. Then I decided to experiment with that and had a bunch of fun. Then I decided to join my first Server, Dank TTT(I miss that server) filled with amazing people who have long moved on from this game, made some of my best friends on that server. Also the most nerfed shotgun I've ever seen. Was extremely fun and enjoyable. Later I messed in sandbox again and enjoyed myself. After a while more and more addons were added, from Titans to Drones, It was a lot of fun.
Even though I don't play this game as much as I used to, it's still a amazing game, even VRChat can't compare with the game known as Garry's Mod.

I hope my review encourages you to play this game! Before you decide to hop into a TTT Server or addon server I recommend you hop into some Sandbox and see what you can do, maybe make something amazing, or check someone elses amazing creations!
