The main campaign is a neat non-violent metroidvania. The game seems to target especially seasoned players with local innovations in a conservative frame. The post-game is ridiculously long.

Very entertaining racing game, especially in the first half of the campaign. It gets repetitive and grindy later in the campaign.

A modern version of UltraStar, a great open source singing game for PC. I recommend using the open source app USDB Syncer to obtain songs.

There's a lot of relatively uninteresting documents. Instead of the detailed mail exchanges between Mechner and Broderbund, I would appreciate some in-depth look on the source code of Karateka. I appreciate the analysis of the music.

The game doesn't have enough heart and feels like a Kickstarter-funded product. The lack of quality shows mainly in the dialogue and the story, at least in the first 3 hours of the campaign.

Feels rather sterile compared to its predecessors, namely Flashback.

What I like about Ori and the Blind Forest:
- Low emphasis on combat (which is especially interesting in combination with the metroidvania structure)
- Focus on horizontal movement
- Lavish audiovisual presentation
- Solid and balanced metroidvania progression
- Fairly light-hearted setting (reminds me of Celeste)
- High production value
- Relatively short playtime

The only substantial flaw is that the combat is often tedious. I often found myself mashing a button and waiting for an enemy to succumb.
