Early Access Review
I met with this game first back at release date a year ago in the form of a video. I couldn't really even remember clearly what the video was at the time. I just remembered that it was some pretty nice looking game. Some sort of Unity made thing. Then the rona hit even harder than before, and suddenly I found myself with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of time on my hands. And during that time I discovered the game behind that video that I just ever so faintly remembered. And the name was: ULTRAKILL

There is a lot I could talk about here and why i fell in love with this game, but I'll try and keep it short. The first time I discovered that video in question, even then the game seemed visually pretty pleasing. It was obvious it was made on Unity, yet had that Quake feel to it with adrenaline to the maximum and beyond. When I came accross the name again and tried out the demo, I had money, so naturally i bought the game straight after I finished said demo. But even the demo had so much content, I just almost couldn't believe it. Ultrakill got me tied down immediately and i was in love.

I played through the game in a single night. I just basically couldn't put the damn thing down. Then I went further and discovered that there was WAY more content than I had originally came across. The game seemed to have so much content, and to find out I was barely even scratching the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ surface, boy, you know Ruby was running LAPS. The amount of fun I had while having my second and third run, so that I could experience all that content I clearly missed last time I couldn't put to words properly. Even as I am writing this, I am struggling to find the right words to describe the feeling. Being an early access game, it just has so so so much content, especially gameplay-wise, it's honestly astounding. Then I finally finished everything I could.

Then the devs decided to announce the new layer (with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mad Max ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) and I straight away hopped on, and day one played said update. With even more content coming, and it was even more fun than the last missions, I was having a field day. Then i finally completed the 4th aswell.

And now here I am, writing a review about the game, barely even being able to collect the right words to describe my experience and uploading speedruns.

As much as it sounds cliché and this will probably end up as a copypasta to somebody in some form, this game had changed my life. It had such a great impact on me to the point I gained a new sense of purpose and finally gave me something that I thought was lacking: A perfectionist and competitive spirit I never even knew existed.

Ultrakill is truly one of a kind, and with the devs and New Blood being the way that they are, I almost cannot have a single negative word about this game. It's a fantastic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, and I am very curious as to what this game will become when it's fully done, and even though i wasn't there from the start, i would want to be one of the few to be there til the finish.

If you love movement shooters, or want to have that sort of 90's shooter nostalgia. Or Hell, even both. Then this game is a must have. There is so much more i could say here, but I just can't find the words for it. All i can tell you for sure is that you are missing out if you haven't played this game atleast once

Buy it!

I hate Mindflayers man

My God in the High Heavens... Where should i even begin. One thing i can say for certain, is that i am absolutely in love with this game.

The first thing that catched my attention was the lore of the game. It's quite shady as there isn't much explanation on why you got to where you are and why do you need to do certain things. As your progress in game, the lore gets smaller explanations but we will still have a few questions. None the less, it is not quite bad. Now... Maybe on the wiki you will find more explanations of the lore, but in game, not so much. After you have progressed in the story, to continue getting more and more into it i suggest you do Downfall missions.

One reason out of the many. Why i loved the game so much was because of it's beauty. Now, people with weaker PC's may not feel this experience fully, but when i was playing it, i found quite a reasonable amount of wallpaper material. Wherever i went i was turning my camera around in awe as i saw how beautifully made the games segments was. Another really nice touch to it in my opinion was when you reached a different location, the time of day and weather changed in a way it would look like the time got either rewinded or winded forward.

Now, to get to the gameplay parts. This is what really made me fell in love with this game. The combat mechanic system is really well made. However it is quite difficult to use, it takes a lot of time to master every move, and it also takes tons of time to land the right hits at the right time, and to make the best and most convinient combos. Even i haven't mastered the combat system yet, and i have just as much skill as a somewhat of a beginner. A friendly reminder to everyone on this regard. This is not a Hack & Slash game. You can't mash your hands on the keyboard and hope for everyone to die around you. The game offers reasonable amount of fighting styles to choose from, each having a unique ability, their own difficulty of mastering it and using it in battle, so everyone can choose any sort of ability for their fighter to their own tastes. Another really nice touch to the combat system.

As you progress in the game, your skills will be tested more and more, so the game gets harder and harder the further you progress. However, you can improve and perfect your own abilities to deal with these challenges. You can also find items laying around here and there, which you can pick up and make your character a more powerful combatant, or even earn items from battles. Every item however has weight. Now yes, the more heavier armor you have, the more protection you will earn from it, but your speed will get significantly decreased. The same is present while wielding weapons, meaning you can't move as fast as others with lighter armor, and your attacks will be slower too, (Attack speed also depends on the move itself) so be sure to keep your speed on atleast a Normal unit at all times. However this depends on fighting style really. Most items like let's say swords that have been dropped on the ground will eventually break. Weapons can be earned from fights, and those remain permanent. These weapons can break too, but they recharge over time so you can use it again and it won't disappear like the perviously mentioned weapons, laying around on the map or ones dropped from NPC's.

As for NPC's. No matter what they will act hostile towards you, which sometimes can be annoying but can be managed if you know how to take down people, which i am sure everyone will learn how to do that as they progress further. These NPC's sometimes will have moves that can be learned by using your ability against the attack or blocking the attack. Once you defeat your opponent you learn the move, or atleast progress. Plus you also can learn moves and fighting styles from schools, allowing you to earn new moves and be able to edit your combat deck so you can make your own unique attack sequences. You can even test these fight sequences and if you don't like them, you can always go back to edit them and find a sequence that is good for your tastes and find convinient. Keep in mind, despite the moves may look good, it does not mean the attack sequence is safe to use or is convenient in combat. I'd recommend speaking to more experienced players on this regard.

About the previously mentioned learning the enemies moves. Players who use a different fighting style than you also allow you to learn their moves, this progressing you further and allowing you to become better. This probably has to be another reason as to why i fell in love with this game. The game offers multiplayer so you can even meet players as you progress on your journey. Now, as long as you act nicely towards players, you will be greeted with the same amount of kindness. Now, i have not been to Online too much, let's say PvP battles, but as far as i have progressed, i came to the conclusion that this games playerbase by far has to be the most kindest, least toxic and full of honor community. Now yes, there are players who will attack you for no reason, but the chances of finding somebody like them is hard. I have encountered 70-80 players let's say. Out of those 70-80 players only like 15 were those who actually attacked me and acted toxic. Most people did request a battle against me however and i was honored to fight these people, wether i lost or not. Either i helped them back up or vice versa. If i lost i learned from my mistakes and took notes on what to do and not do next time i happen to be in a fight. This game was probably the second game i played that actually made me think of what I could have gotten wrong in the situation and not blame my opponent instead. The community of this game is probably what i find the best in this game. I really, really hope this won't become another dumpsterfire like most games nowadays with their communities that are more toxic than a nuclear war.

Well. I don't really know what else to say. So here is my conclusion:

Pros:
- Absolutely beautiful environment
- Well made and interesting combat system
- Possibly the least toxic community i have ever came across in any game
- Game is quite challenging, though not Dark Souls level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane diffculty

Cons:
- Lore is quite shady, and not finished. You will need to explore more on the lore.
- Game is really short story wise. You can complete the main story under no more than 20 minutes.
- Insanely hostile NPCs who will attack you instantly if they spot you. It is managable but still annoying

I would rate this game a solid 9.4/10
I really, really enjoyed the game and i still enjoy it even though i don't have too much hours on the game. I am really saddened by the fact updates have ceased. I would have loved to see this game grow more and more. It had all the potential. Do i recommend it despite that? ABSOLUTELY! This one is a must have for those who love fighting games or anything of the sort. I highly recommend it to everyone though

Vindictus... What should i say about this game. I have spent quite a lot time in this game by now, and i really enjoyed it, and i still do. There are so many things you can do, it is almost unreal. The game has a very unique, sometimes hard to understand storyline which you can progress to level up, aswell as additional missions for stories and non-story quests. There is a quite big variety of choosable characters and classes, each of them posessing unique abilities, aswell as owning their own storyline, allowing you to get deeper into your character's story. You can customize your characters too, however in order to look good you may have to pay real money. I really do not know what to say, this game has lots and lots to offer. I personally think it is a great game and it is worth checking out.

I will give this game an 8/10 due to the story. Even if it's quite unique, you may get lost as ♥♥♥♥ while progressing

This game is garbage. The community of this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ toxic it's not even funny in the slightest. This would be a very good game if the community wouldn't be extremely toxic. And that's not even all. The idea of the game was really promising, which is a free to play version of Smash Bros. But the implementation is absolutely ass. After the studio was bought by Garbosoft, the game essentially lost all originality and now only has skins for characters from 80 different franchises. As such, the original characters have died out and the game gets both visually and even technically repetitive. This game wasn't supposed to have collaborations unlike Smash. But then let's get to the technical issues i mentioned earlier:

This game's frame data, active frames, hit and hurtboxes are all a disaster. There are certain weapons that have such an embarrassingly higher advantage over the others it's not even funny. There are weapons which you can combo with for all eternity without the least amount of effort put into it, while the other requires you to sweat blood to get just a decent combo, all of which can very easily go to ♥♥♥♥ with a well timed dodge. The sheer amount of combos you can pull off which have zero dodge windows with certain weapons it's honestly hilarious. The active frames in this game is also abhorrent. You can throw a weapon up into the air, and when it lands 3 years later it still hits you. And what i just said only barely scratches the surface of the technical issues. It would take too long for me to write it all down

The biggest and worst issue with this game is the fact it had such a great potential to be a PC version rival of Smash, but ultimately everything went downhill. At this point i can hardly say i have any hopes of this game becoming what it was originally supposed to be. The entire premise of this game was crushed to bits long ago.

Any of you asking for a rating then you will have it. This game would need to change from the ground up in order for it to become something good once more. It's a 3/10 from me
