One more company with a great game decides to sacrifice all their integrity just to screw over the people that made them. Avarice is an insatiable thirst, and one that Epic Games is fully willing to exploit as they continue down the amoral path of exclusivity deals. In a healthy competing game market, you might expect the challenger to bring new things to the table in the effort to win public favor, but the only thing Epic is capable of doing is throwing their money around. In siding with Epic Games, Gearbox/2K have shown they are more than complicit in the objectionable practices in play, so long as there is a nice sum of money at the end. Just as they have no concern for you, you shouldn't withhold any concern for them. The bare-bones, intrusive Epic Games launcher is not a worthy sacrifice when it comes to getting to play Borderlands 3. On September 13th, get ready to raise the sails because it's full Steam ahead.
