I've been playing the free version for over 10 years..

This game is a masterpiece. I want to preface and say that its not for everyone, there is a wild amount of info you need to learn just to play the basics, but the attention to detail to the mechanics is unbelievable. The steam version fixes a lot of the hurdles it takes to run the game (RIP Lazy Newb Pack).
